A couple weeks ago I began to notice a change in the game. More and more random granades are being tossed. There seem to be a lot more mountain top LMG and HMG campers, snipers, and people hiding on rooftops for the duration of the entire game. More vehicles are being driven out of bounds and more FAVs are being crashed, flipped over, and generally driven like the driver is drunk or mentally challenged. :dead:
Whilst playing, I began to contemplate why this sudden burst of newbishness is occuring. I used to be able to join most of the Cerbere Landing servers with around 30-40 players, join a squad, play professionally and win almost always with top score. Now, however, it seems that there has been an influx of unprofessional players who spam, bunny hop, baserape, drop APMs and support auto-guns at spawn points, and do anything in general out of desperation regardless of how cheap it is to kill you.
It suddenly dawned on me a few days ago when I joined a squad and started talking to the leader via squad VOIP. "Dude, we're gettin rocked!" I heard, from the squeaky, pre-pubescent leader. My jaw dropped. The realization hit me like a butcher slapping you in the face with a frozen rack of ribs.
"...SCHOOL MUST BE OUT AND ALL THE KIDS ARE PLAYING..." I thought, much to my dispair.
My heart sank. It was then that I knew that I'm going to have to put up with this crap for the next 2 months. This is Battlefield 2142's first summer vacation with the kids and it's not going well at all. Being an internet gaming veteran, I know the effect that summer vacation can have on games and it almost always is extremely negative.
Here's to hoping August and September aren't as bad as July has been.
*chugs a Heineken*
Disclaimer: No disrespect to younger gamers, I know some of you are good and know how to play honorably.
