Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
hey if you can truly defend the silo from up there go right ahead. what happens when its not armor thats capping but infantry thats on the other side of the silo? what do you do then?
remember, an engie rocket makes someone dead, not just wounded. can be v handy to have an engie pull off a hit on the squad leader that's coming to ruin your home
makes you wonder how awesome it would be if a headshot from a zeller killed you outright... man that would be uber

look I dont allways camp in towers OK ;I dont allways play as engineer;it is however my favorite class - if infantry do appear on the scene I have three frags to use and an expanded smg - which is deadly at close range. I normally let them deactivate the silo before attacking and let them relax a little. The tactic of letting of a few rounds to entice them into the tower is because the smg is only any good at short range;so I believe that this is playing to the kits strengths..is this ok for you..this whole thread is about acting like a noob to trick other players into stupid moves....I suggest we stick to the topic now...
Well technically using the easiest killing weapon the game is acting like a noob.....though granted it doesnt lure the enemy coz the enenmy can't avoid it full stop anyway!
should noob tactics really be a tip? i mean, experienced players defeat noob tactics with no problem usually.
He's not talking about playing like a newb. He's talking about acting like a newb even though he is not.
It's a good tactic sometimes IMO. Say you are low on health and won't last long in a firefight unless you get some health soon, and you spy an enemy rounding a corner towards you, if you drop to one knee and fire the chances of you surviving are slim. But if you can trick him into thinking you are a newb by acting all panicky and as soon as you see him you run for the nearest corner alot of the times the other player will be thinking "zOMG N00b!! Fresh meat!!" and will rush headlong towards you in hot pursuit, only to find you waiting just inside the corner with your knife, grenade, APM, RDX etc.
Or say you spot someone coming towards you under Active Camo and you pretend not to see them and let them get behind you, you just know they are going to grab their knife and try for your tags. But surprise! You've just done a 180 and are now facing them and you've got an Assault Rifle aimed at their head and they've only got a knife and are 20 feet away and they are now fully visible.
I'm just saying I agree with the OP that it isn't always advisable to shoot at everything that moves. Sometimes a little mis-direction can do wonders.

That pretty much sums it up.
For the most part, I have to use these kinda tactics to get kills, not very good at direct face-to-face combat, maybe because my ping is always above 90, and usually in the 110-120 range (except in 1.4 beta where it's more like 160-170).
Or it could be that I just suck at aiming.
Either way, I find the easiest way to win is through smarts, not reflexes.
Oh and here's a tip: Most times, you can survive thorough a full clip if you're sprinting perpendicular to the person shooting you, the average pubber will have to reload before they chase you to wherever you ran to, this gives you time to set something up (unless they switch to pistol of course). It also frustrates the hell outa the person, who just saw you scamper from one building to another in full view, but not able to do anything about it.
The simplest, and yet strangely very effective noob-like tactic I've seen recently is when you spot an enemy at a distance but you, the smarter player know you're at a disadvantage... head away from them as if you haven't seen them, as if you missed them like a complete noob. Don't fire, or give any indication that you even saw them at all (i.e. don't just turn and run in the other direction). Make it look naturally like you were already headed somewhere else and "feel" safe. More than a few times the last few days, the person has been drawn away to come hunting for the "easy target who didn't see them". Find a nice little spot further along the route than they would expect and just watch for them. Often they get so distracted looking for the easy kill noob, they actually aren't paying attention to anything else.
Easier kill than the one they were hoping to get.
