meh, figure out what you want to do in a game...FPS/RPG/RTS etc. Go to a gaming website and look up some of the higher rated reviewed games for that genre and then go out and buy it. Begins the process all over.
As people have said, sometimes you just need a break. I don't think there are many games out there that I've beaten the first time through, most of the time I leave and come back to it several times before I finish it.

I play COD2 and FS2004 as well as this game. It slows down my progress but then it keeps it fresh. I usually tire of the others too and am really impressed with BF2142 when I return to it.
Alternately, you could learn to make beautiful music by making farting sounds with your hands as a previous poster mentioned. This works for me to. I know it sounds crazy but......:yay:
Would anyone care to hear my version of "Dixie"?

Yeah take a break for a bit. I play Fallout 2 sometimes or Dawn of War: Dark Crusade when I'm not in the mood for blasting troops around. All three games off different game play which makes them all interesting at different times. If you only play FPS then you will eventually be bored of the games sooner and sooner (possibly) because they all play in a similar fashion, run and shoot essentially. I love my BF2142 but its okay to go play something else.

Anyone have any tips?

Yeah friends is a good answer to boredom. Do you lonewolf alot? I do and it is really boring. Nothing like playing a game with friends.

I'm sure you've played in squads before but try playing on a Squadplay server or similar and play the game in a tight well run squad. It makes such a difference playing the game as it was meant to. When there are 6 of you running 3 foot apart towards the enemy you are much much stronger..Originally posted by raidyr View PostWell, I have been playing 2142 since it came out, but now I am finally bored with it. The large majority often play within a squad but not as a squad. They chase their own points etc and see the squadleader as nothing more than a mobile spawn point. They then run off in the other direction because they see a lone enemy or empty walker etc...
Also try finding servers that run the less popular configurations of maps like the 16 player conquest of Verdun or Tunis Harbour etc. They bring areas of the maps that aren't in play on the larger maps. It creates a whole new game.....

Try your best to score as high as possible without a single death.
Way Way Way harder than it sounds, if you don't die at the hands of the enemy, its at the hands of your own stupidity/teamate

My 2142 will no longer load any of the maps. So I just stopped caring and have retired from the game. I don't see much life in it either with future titles on the horizon.
and I'm very glad $10 wasn't wasted towards Northern Strike.
Plus something else that really made me come to this decision was playing ET:QW BETA. I love the faster movement. Have always been a huge fan of the Quake series due to this style of gameplay. Others may hate it, thats their opinion, play something else. I know ET:QW won't suit everyone but I can see it becoming very popular once all of the problems are worked out. Only a matter of time and the most important factor is that its not being backed by EA in any way shape or form!
