Then I would like to see him run half an hour of Orthos and Real Time HDR IBL.

one question. what clock do you want my cpu at? got a 4800+ x2 in at the moment, but i do have a 3800+ i could pop in just to prove you wrong. what program do you want me to use for the temps? will speedfan work, or the program that came with my mobo

edit: sorry about the gpu temp, one of my fans went crazy and isn't working

First of all, you don't run both at the same time. RTH for GPU /Orthos for CPU.
The x1950 series cards are pretty cool, not gonna argue with that. And if you are using the original BIOS it probably displays the temperature way off.

And even if your temperatures still would be that low, it doesn't exactly prove that other computers will be damaged by higher temperatures. n00bs in the hw-world are always so hysterical about temperatures. It's not a human body!

I'm curious if they play at home or work. During the DICE challenge, were they paid?

So 3 pages in and we still don't have an answer from DICE players as to what Uber setups they are using? Please, stop making us dream of about your liquid cooled, Intel octo-core, 8 gig of DDR 1066 RAM, quad 200 gig 15 k SCSI drives, Quad SLI/Crossfire, dual 42 inch LCD's and post a little bit of love for the regular guys :)

Cmon. You guys all know that DICE games are made on old p2 e-machines with 128 megs of ram, a diamond viper ultra 2 vid card, and windows ME. To me that explains everything.............

nah, you're mixing up with EA master server.

Don't be silly. The EA Master Server is a hamster on a wheel, running all day and all night. Every Tuesday the hamster dies from exhaustion, and must be replaced. The whole business about "regular maintenance" is a cover story.

                            LMAO, now that was funny.

On topic, they have answered this question before and if I remember correctly they had some normal high-end computers at work. No water cooled stuff and one said they played at home on an XPS Laptop.

I can't be 100% sure on this, maybe someone can back me up on this...
Didn't DICE say their work PCs aren't that awesome? I heard they are good like 7900 GT card, maybe Intel core 2 duo E6600... Something around those lines? I am sure noone of them said 8800 GTX nor Ultra. Nothing about Quad core, nor water cooling.

Yea I am pretty sure how one DICE member said how their home PC is better or something like that.

P.S. Since people have been getting off topic with cooling maybe I'll ask this. So I shouldn't be freaking out if my 7900 GS card gets ~65C after full load? (2 hours of BF2142)

I'd think that their PC's would be mid to upper-mid range. You have to design the games with the AVERAGE user in mind, and let's face it, the average Joe who buys the BF games is NOT gonna run out and plunk down $6000 for a dual 8800 GTX 768 MB OC SLI 1kw psu silly w4nker of a poofdah machine. No. He's maybe gonna plunk down $100-200 for an upgrade of his GPU. And MIGHT spend a bit extra next time he gets 'round to a new PC. Which for the average person is 2-3 years time. If you have bills and a social life, etc. LOL.

Edit: LOL, I can't believe I had to spell w4nker like this to get it past the auto-censor!
