SQUAD:-Northern Strike unlock: SL RPU: makes your squad mates spawn in 10 seconds on the beacon as opposed to the normal 15. the good; it gets your guys back in quicker. the bad; those 5 seconds is vital time you could have revived your squad member... saving your team a ticket loss. once you select, its always in play as a squad leader beacon. you have no choice in the matter whether to use it or not....

Do you mean it is a beacon you don't actually have to deploy? When you say it is always in play as a squad leader what do you mean? Just curious. Thanks.

It means you can't equip the new beacon, it's an upgrade to the old one. And you can't drop the old 15 second spawn beacon, even if you wanted to.

So I still don't get it, if you can't equip it you can't use it, why get it?

He's saying the 10-second squad beacon, when unlocked, automatically REPLACES the ol' 15-second one... Whether you like it or not.

thanks diamond, and yes... it isn't neutral =) i have a hard time giving positive suggestions on some of the items i think are a waste =)

its just a quickie to help those trying to decide what to unlock next.

yes, the final SL unlock replaces your 15 second beacon with a 10 second one. you are unable to return to the 15 second one. (personally, i NEVER use a beacon unless putting it on a titan. i hate how they divide my squad... long story)

Just remember that new players may read this, and your own tastes should not be taken as law. Some people find uses for the unlocks you identify as a waste, and might feel more at home if more new players heard a fair shake of THEIR tastes, instead of yours. In my opinion it would be much better to simply state the pros and cons of each weapon, their strengths and weaknesses, and let people make up their own damn minds based on their own style :) .

No insult intended or anything - in my experience threads/guides like these tend to be constantly evolving works, so hopefully all of the descriptions and uses for all the unlocks will expand with time.

oh it was. i made this for my gaming community back in november of '06 and i've tweaked it from time to time.

Although, I agree a guide may be better without subjective opinion injected into it, I happen to agree with your (Bardo) assessments of those upgrades I am familiar with. I also am getting the point you made in another thread about breaking up your squad with the SLB. I hate that. I also don't like advertising to the enemy, hey I am over here and disoriented, would you please kill me now? People love to spawn camp beacons and to be honest, I have done it a few times myself. But usually on top of the Titan and I was defending so I don't feel bad. I understand putting a SLB on a Titan on assaulting enemy Titan but that is about it (unless your squad agrees you are staying in this one spot and not moving.)

Also the Clark shotgun is awesome. It is meant to be used for close range only. I one shot people all the time with it. However, I am careful to avoid medium to long range engagements with it as I will get killed. But you would be suprised how often one finds oneself in a CQ fight. Happens a lot. The Clark RDX is not very good and I have been only able to make it work in the Titan flushing people out of the vents or hitting consoles with it. It gives away your position since the balls glow so much and often you will die shortly after using it since everyone now knows where the guy with the fireworks is located. I have not used the Otus but you have me salivating to try. I also will be looking for you online Bardo and will try to join on you if I see you. Nice posts, here there and everywhere.

hehe... again, sorry for the subjectiveness... but this was originally for my gaming community and i wanted to save their time on some unlocks.

the clark is good, yes... but it will be better in the upcoming patch. as will the clark rdx.

IMO Herzog attachment is very powerful. use it with my baur. with the extended clip upgrade you get 4 rounds. take 2 people out very quickly. the delay on firing that weapon is small. usually if your facing more then 2 people at once your screwed. unless your one crafty fellow :)
