Made to connect to a server I do not want. CS 1.6

CS 1.6 I search for servers, find one I like, I try to join it but I end up connected to a different server. It' always the same one I'm diverted to. I don't like this server. I have uninstalled steam and CS and deleted all steam and cs folders I could find. Re installed steam/Cs but the problem returns. What is causing this? Some kind of Malware?
Any ideas would be helpful.

It actually used to be pretty common but has died down in recent memory.
