Which Detonator driver version are you using? Did you download it directly from nVidia, or get Microsoft's version through Windows Update? Which operating system are you running? Are your audio drivers also up to date?
Does windowed-mode affect framerate?
Do you have the steam community overlay features enabled or disabled?
What are your settings for fps_max, fps_modem and fps_lan?
vsync setting?
Are you forcing anti-aliasing on in drivers?
Is your hard drive being accessed at all while you play?
antialiasing-gamma correction: on
antialiasing-mode :application controlled
antialiasing-transparancy : off
triple buffering : on
vsync: force off
no my harddrive isnt being accessed while im playing
i guess ill try updating my nvidia driver idk last time i updated it about 3,4, or 5 months
ago
using windows vista home premium
fps_modem: 0.0
fps_max: 100
thats all i can find out for now
i have the same problem my main menu is 99 fps the server menu is 30 fps, and in game fps is high when im alone and when im with players and actions going on the fps drops really low to 20 fps it sucks. when i move around in open areas the fps is terible like 15 and in tight corners its around 50, im fine with 50 in tight corners but 15 fps in open areas suck.
do you think that maybe my vid card isnt good enuf or that its taking to much memory up or sumthing im not a pro w. computers but i cant play cs anymore
i play on a dell inspiron 1501 vista 32 amd turion 64 mobil technoligy mk-36 2.00ghz
Is something else running in the background that's eating up your performance? If you bring up the task manager while playing (press [ctrl]+[alt]+[del] and select it), is hl.exe getting most of the processor, or is Steam.exe eating it all, or some other process? What happens if you boost the priority of hl.exe and/or lower the priority of Steam.exe? Disable all anti-virus software before you launch the game and see how that affects performance.
Just a few more steps there to further narrow down what's going on...
Unregistered, are you also trying to play CS1.6 or CS:S?
i have windows 32 bit and i just updated my drivers like 3 days ago
that helped a little bit but when i tried it on my old windows XP computer it works great 100 fps solid
