Installing Css on extra internal hardrive

Hello everyone.

I just brought a Western Digital We caviar green 1tb (1000 gb) hardrive.
I formated it and everything ntsc. Then i installed steam on that drive and played css. when i play it every now and then the game will how can i say freeze for like a real quick quick second. Also Usually when i played and someone flashbanged the screen would turn white then have the blured effect. Now it just has the blurred 1.6 flashbang effect without the white flash. I know its not the drivers or the sli cards it was workin no prob before on the primary hardrive.

I brought this hardrive so i would have alot of room for gaming on my pc. Now Im trying to figure out if this was a mistake because it seems if i install on this hardrive which works as my secondary extra hardrive the games will have this lockup prob which is no good. I have reinstalled steam twice still same issue.

my rig is

Windows vista home basic
intel r core 2 quad cpu q6600@ 2.40ghz
4.00gb ram
nvidia geforce gtx 280 dual sli

nForce 790i Ultra SLI motherboard

How does the hard drive connect to your computer? USB? If so, you probably won't want to use your external to hold fast paced games like a first person shooter.

it's connected with sata cables. But in general are you saying it's not a good idea to run games that way.

Nah, games should run fine even from an external disc via usb.
Are you positive it's the disc's fault? Any chance you could try playing from another source?
