Is Premium Worthwhile?

Hey all, I have a question and I'd appreciate any advice given.

I began playing BF3 on the PS3 about a month ago and I love it. I just saw BF3 Premium on amazon.com (for $50, I paid $30 for the standard BF3), and now I'm thinking about what's the best way to get all of those expansion packs. Are there some that are better than others? How much do they cost individually? Obviously now I wish I just got Premium to begin with, but I didn't; is it worthwhile to just spend another $50 and get Premium and get all the expansion packs all at once, or would it be better to simply get a few of the expansion packs individually (on the PlayStation Network, I'm assuming?) and go from there?

One better than another is a trick question. That's all personal preference. I think B2K is a great expansion as well as Aftermath. I felt close quarters and armored Kill were OK.

I used to have the calculation, but its been a long time; if you were going to purchase 3 of the expansions, its better to just get them all with Premium. I think they're $15 each and there will be 5. So 3 is $45.

Also there are some added perks for the premium route, but I don't really care about those.

One more question:

If I were to purchase BF3 Premium, would that affect my current multiplayer setup at all, or could I continue playing as usual, with the only difference being that I'd have access to a lot more maps and whatnot?

Do you all think that the expansion packs really add that much? I really only play for multiplayer, so getting another twenty maps seems to be well worth the price. What's the overall consensus?

Nothing changes with your character when you purchase Premium. You just play. You will get more unlocked weapons and your knife skin will change.

The game goes from 9 vanilla maps to 25 with four more on the way. It also adds other game modes for the new maps as well as weapons.

So I think it adds a lot. Maybe someone else will chime in.

I say go for it. If you enjoy the game's multiplayer then it sure is a great addition. Honestly you can also find cheaper prices on places other than origin, just like signa is showing.

Though that is Premium Edition, which means he will be paying for BF3 again. still if it's cheaper then its also better xD

One last thing: how exactly does the multiplayer game change? I assume I will still be able to play with non-premium members on the vanilla maps, but I'll also be able to seamlessly play on the new maps with only premium members as well? I hope nothing's changing, just the addition of new maps and items. Can someone explain this to me?

Yes you got that right. You will be able to play with non-premium members on the vanilla maps, you will be able to play with other premiums and you will be able to play with people who also bought only a certain/specific DLC and not the whole thing. Being premium also gives you priority when on server queues and allows you to enter on premium only servers.

Just think of it like this: Being premium does not constrict you in any way, all it does is add more stuff.

Dont know. Some people have problems purchasing on the main page. I remember something about that in the battlelog forums. If you are able, you might do a google search on that.

Also, after you buy premium, remember to log out and back into Battlelog. It wont show up if you dont.
