CoD is like Fruitcake. You can give it year after year and people smile and say "Thank you," but no one really wants it. They still have last year's cake.

He usually puts out much better quality video critiques. I was disappointed with this one, but he did make some very good points about the box art, Black Ops-esque interrogation and nukes from COD4.

At this point though, where can developers go? What are BF4 or MW4 going to be like? Every story, era, and style has been done to death. I feel like keeping BF3 around for several years and just releasing map packs you pay $5 for.

Well no offence to the people who served there but a WW1 game would be difficult to portray correctly due to the slow paced nature of Trench warefare. Not many people would be willing to play even a dumbed down version thanks to the rise of CoD stupidity.

What would a World War 1 shooter be anyway? There were only bolt-action rifles and mostly fixed-position machine gun nests. Sure there were a few crappy portable LMGs and the German's had an SMG by the end of the war but it was deployed in numbers unworthy of attention.

If you want to portray WW1 properly everybody would sit in their trenches for a few days while artillery rained overhead and you had to deal with rats, lice, diseases, and did I not mention freaking ARTILLERY enough? ...that would bury you alive if not blow you to pieces, then eventually an enemy attack would come which would be cut down about 100 yards before your grenades became useful.

Then rinse and repeat until it's your turn to get chopped down.

A game will never display any of that though, no one would play them lol


I still recommend any one who has 1942 to dl BF1918, one of the biggest mods for 1942 and has a huge community still.

Well my cake looks ok at first, but then up close it has lots of bits of crap in it that looks like it came from some sort of console and is lacking in fundamental content that leaves a sour taste......Second thoughts, I'm not eating this shit.
