Re: Squads only accessible in battlelog
Yeah I posted about this in the Battlelog forums. I assumed they just hadn't implemented the squad menu in game, because squad leader selection isn't there either, and there was all this space for other squads in that menu.
I've defended a lot of the issues with BF3, this is the first I don't think makes any sense, and yes will hurt a huge part of what makes battlefield great, Teamwork.Comment

Re: Squads only accessible in battlelog
zh1nt0 was in a TS and he was asked blatantly many times about in-game squad management. If it was a misunderstanding the first time, he would have corrected himself at this point. Instead, he just shrugged the questions off by saying they felt like they were doing the right thing about wouldn't change it.Originally posted by VrekiThat is so stupid that I believe it must be a misunderstanding.
At least until we got a more detailed confirmation than a tweet.Battlelog/Origin ID - Hurricane043Comment

Re: Squads only accessible in battlelog
Yeah, I mean that just cant be right. So you run into some guys in a server that are doing some good teamwork so to join them and have fun, you have to exit or minimize the game and invite them all through battlelog? Really? It makes sense to take seven or eight steps to create a squad? That seems like the right thing to do? Youre telling me that BC2 is going to have a better squad system than BF3?
Yeah, this cant be right. I understand using battlelog to make a squad with known friends and to setup voip for it. That makes sense. But we cant do that for fun with a bunch of strangers? That makes no sense at all.

We really don't know anything yet. They say there will be more platoon option in the final version of battlelog so I would assume the same for squad. This news will not deter me from buying the game.

Re: Squads only accessible in battlelog
Exactly, it makes no sense at all. But outrage over this change has been posted all over the Battlelog and EA forums today, and zh1nt0 has been twitter bombed about this. As I said, if it was just a mistake, they would have come out and said it (as they are again risking sales), but when asked directly about it, zh1nt0 has just ignored the question (even blocking people who asked about it on Twitter) or brushed it off.Originally posted by CptainCrunchYeah, I mean that just cant be right. Re: Squads only accessible in battlelog
Hopefully the reaction of the crowd will mean they might try and implement something. This is a right shafting otherwise though, BF2 had a great squad management system imo. Now we have gone from having 6 players to 4, and now no ability to create one on the fly with randoms. Massive step in the wrong direction.Comment

I'm hoping this is all a big misunderstanding and what it really means is squads function as normal in the game plus the ability to put your battlelog party in a squad upon joining."Crunch's First Officer"

I think the competition organizers will demand it and EA will appease them because they want the advertisementComment
