Yes it is, you don't have to own any Battlefield title to get into the BF3 Beta.

From my calculations the beta must go for aleast a period of 3 days. 2 days for who bought bf3 thru origin or has the moh limited edition, and atleast one day open for everyone

Granted you do have to meet the requirements to play the game, but I wouldnt blame DICE for that.

At least it means the beta is really close.

Some EA support guys are saying that codes will be sent out for early access over the next couple of days and the beta will start later this week. While that is EA support and obviously not very reliable, keep in mind that almost everyone has been saying there is no date for some time.

That is true, however, a number of devs have also tweet about how BF3 this week is going to rock. Soooo, it may be this week.
