I was looking through the wall of shame and noticed some people are on there due to higher K/D ratio. Is that really grounds for labeling someone a cheater?

Well, yes, if its high enough.
But you will have to link to a couple of examples if you wish to discuss them.

I just took a look at the "Wall of Ugly", and I can see that you have people there with a very low pecentage, e.g. 16%

In other words you are exposing people as cheaters that have over 80% probability of being legit, at least according to your own calculations.
That is not ok.

Well our very own Leki is on there, but the one i remember was candyman. a name i clicked on because i remembered seeing him online.
hmm, but now that i think about it.. 49% headshots with the svu? 46% with the type88?

Mine are similar. 45% HS with the SVU and 44% with the Type 88. But I do use those like the bolts.

the word "cheat" is not being used will do what i can not to use that wording. its "ugly" you must review the player carefully. if they make it on the wall there is a good chance they are doing some fishy to get there be it using a 3'd party tool or even stat padding. different weapons are calculated differently as some are more prone to have a higher ratio be head shot or overall KDR. Even the add on Nam is calculated differently as its weapons are prone to score higher then normal bfbc2. not going to pick on any names from the wall and go over the reason why they should or should not be there but its something you have to review, understand and make the best judgement as you see fit as a admin.

Wrong, when you choose to publish a cheater list, you make it your responsibility.
Most people are not going to read the fine print, they will see the name on the list and assume "cheater".

And anything below 50% is not "a good chance". Even if you numbers are reliable, you need a much higher cutoff before putting peoplel on such a list.

I think it's garbage.... for some reason I don't think listing sponsored gamers on a wall of ugly is key for success.

Make a wall of ugly website list and throw this one at the top.

I hope I didn't confuse anyone. It just states the probability. In statistics that means not guaranteed. In my initial post its states

this will give you nothing but a strong indication that the people you are playing with or against are clean or keeping your server cheat free.

. Not something you should rely on heavily but helps you analyze their stats better and USE that at your own discretion. This is what we do. And works great. Just because the person has lets say 10-15% percent does not mean anything. If you just start a character and have a few kills and most happen to be headshots it will raise it. That's why you look at it and use your own discretion like I said.

Some players with low KDR or other factors are on the wall of ugly simply for having priors on pbbans or punksbusted.


There is always room for improvement as I stated in my initial post. If you find something that strikes you odd, please let us know and we can look into it.

Its not that Fast, and I think everyone understands that. The issue is with the "Ugly Board" and people with a low precentage being on the board. This wall of ugliness should, I would think, only show people with 80% or above. It could be less given the mathematics involved and a 75 or 70 could actually mean 100% in real life.

The idea is great, but the wall representation may need some looking into.

I think the overall percentage needs some tweaking. when i see someone with 100 M24 sniper kills and 94% of them are headshots or having multiple guns with over 80% headshots they need to ranked higher than a 25% chance of cheating.

Anyone developing anticheats that detect hacks is doing something good. So many of these hackers could be banned if someone would just purchase the hacks and ban them that way.
