More than one M16? SAY WHAAAA??

I was just trollin' around the Twitter (you can follow me @TGass21) and Demize99 tweeted about a half hour ago:

"Dear M16 concerned Battlefield Fans: Why must there be only 1 M16 in the game? "

I don't feel like doing the fancy pic thing. If someone else wants to go for it.

However, say whaaaa?? We're getting 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7?

First of all, Demize is a huge troll

Second, I guess he just changed his mind with all the complaints about the M16. Before, it was the M16A4 that was full-auto, and people started whining. Just recently, he said he changed the name to the M16A3 so that it would make sense to have full-auto. But then more people whined that the A3 was in the game, so maybe he is making it so that the M16A3 is the starting weapon and you unlock the M16A4, but the A4 is burst like it should be.

The troll has gotten himself into a Catch-22.
Current US standard weapon is the M16A4, which is semi and burst. AFAIK the current Rus standard weapon is a full-auto AK-something
So either he
a) Let one side have a burst weapon as standard while the other has a full-auto, which is certain to cause balance whines
Or
b) Let the Marines have a full-auto m-16, which is certain to cause realism whines.

If it was me, I would make the M-16 an unlock at give the Marines a full-auto rifle as standard, just pick something from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Individual_Carbine

Yeah, he trolls.

The thing is that he is getting a lot of heat from the realistic crowd about him making the M16 full auto because its a default weapon in BF3 and he doesnt want to handicap people with it. So my guess is that he is telling everyone, "Why does the M16 have to be that way? Why cant there be a full auto M16?"

Thats how I read it. I dont think there will be 2 M16s in the game.

Do you mean yep they are not? Because I believe that in the alpha I could take the US assault weapon, can't remember what it was, and change firing modes. Or maybe I dreamed that?

I hope that's the case, but maybe have the A3 unlock later and have the A4 be a starting weapon. So the M16A4 would be burst and really accurate, have the M4 be auto and not too accurate, and have the A3 be in between the two.

Still think he's making a poor decision and should just stick with the A4 on burst/semi-auto and everybody would be happy. And by everybody I mean everybody that mattered. The M16A2 was burst in BF2 anyway.

Full auto m16 would be useless IMO,it voids the whole point of having a straight stock and barrel design, i mean theres a reason the made it burst mode.

Over the years Demize himself has stated that he doesnt take Twitter seriously and will give vague or incomplete statements all the time from it to egg people on.

Like this discussion. What does he mean by "more than one m16 in the game." Its vague and sounds like there will be another one, but it has a double meaning that could mean something else.

Unless there is an unlockable M4 later on, the M4 is an engineer gun, not an assault gun.

Whatever happens, the gun the US starts with will be a full auto gun.

Earlier Demize mentioned the M16A3, which is a fully auto variant.

So maybe thats the one they are making in the game.
