Seriously, the game isn't out yet, and it is the first game on that engine. There is no way to answer those questions.
If you can do BC2 on high then it seems likely that you can do BF3 on at least medium settings. It is not going to be more specific than that for a while.

How would a 550ti clocked at 1000 run this? I also have an i7, and 8GB ram. Figured i'd roll with that until i upgrade the psu and gpu for Christmas $$$

Uuuuh I don't know? Try running BC2 forcing dx10 or 11 and compare in 32 player maps; try on different maps like Heavy Metal and Oasis as those are some of the biggest in BC2 along with Rush on the Dam level.

Remember that "similar" doesn't mean "the exact same". I can play atacama and Arica just fine, but the Dam level and Oasis kill my PC right now so I'm waiting for the beta to test again; but both 550ti and 560ti are almost top of the line. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...rd,2964-7.html
