How do we know its per-alpha footage? Are we just assuming?

Video is from pre-alpha version, but no one sad that they are not testing early beta version right now.

I would like to see more recoil, more intimidating weapon sounds, blurring screen from suppression, and less aggressive gameplay. If those soldiers stayed further down the street and each faction fought it out over long distances suppressing would have been epic.

Yeah, but thats not exciting. FPS single player is usually action and not distance attack, even if real life is actually more that way.

This is funny because real weapons design strives for less sound, recoil and to reduce the cool looking flames.

The P90 does a pffffffff sound, LMG sound more like a lot of firecrackers exploding one after th eother; most real life weapons have very subdued signature sounds; they are kind of underwhelming once you go from movie guns to rl guns.

Aaaand... well it makes sense; in th emiddle of a real battle the thing you want the least is giving away your position when you are firing.

By more intimidating do not interpret the word as loud but authentic instead. I've shot a lot of the guns in most FPS games. I'm aware of the recoil they should have and the sound.

I just want it to sound cooler!

Crunch, pouring lead downrange with epic sound is fun!

Shooting bullets downrange as a way to gain fire superiority in RL = awesome.

Sitting at your computer and shooting bullets at nothing to gain fire superiority... meh.

Yeah its fun, in short bursts (pun intended). But doing that over and over wouldnt be any fun at all.

                          Re: Fault Line Episode III

When it's something that happens during a game; it's cool. If the gameplay was built around having long range shoot outs, it would be pretty boring, the same as forcing run and gun like cod.

And this is one particular feature that it's best left unrealistic; real guns sound... well, plain and boring and tough I don't deny it would make for a more authentic representation of combat the masses wouldn't like it as it is not cinematic enough.

Coincidentally, in one of the recent interviews one of DICE's representatives said they were trying to get a realistic sound design that would allow you to orientate through sound, and would make (infering from the interview) sound a more tactically important aspect of the game, but that they were also trying to stay away from the in your face sound of BC2.

So we might still get loud weapons, but a more realistic representation of sound travel.

I just hope they implement supressors for every gun.

Suppressors for every gun? Although im extremely for suppressive weapons and silencers. It annoys the hell out of me when i see someone running around with a silenced .50cal weapon or shotguns with ridiculous sized silencers on them. Whether they exist or not they are completely impractical and simply wouldnt be used in a real military warzone setting (not trying to argue that its a MilSim).

Not... every weapon should have silencers, and if they do, don't give it the typical movie silencer sound and give it one more like...

Ok to clarify; I implied that they should give you the option to put a supressor on your weapon; and yes, there are supressors for LMG and shotguns with the expected results.

Following video of a supressor and red dot sight with a pistol attached to them

Curiously enough, America´s Army lets you use a supressor for almost every gun; it's down to your choice of wasting a second after the round begins to equip it. I think it would be neat, and let's ot forget our soldiers have gotten a bit too chatty anyways and they continuously and loudly report their every move.

I SAID I WAS GOING TO SNEAK BEHIND THAT SNIPER AND KNIFE HIM IN THE BACK OK? SMOKE'EM!
