Pretty sure that's not a rumor, its stated in the GameInformer cover article about how the issue will explain the "MP and singleplayer modes."

They said it will coop, I hope it's the entire single campaign and not one campaign for single and some coop missions. What would be good and less expensive to produce than a BC1/BC2 solo is to use the same maps used in the multiplayer and add some objectives and scripts for the bots. BF1942 to BF2142 SP was horrible and the bots stupid as hell, there was no point to play SP if you had internet.

Rambo, its not going to be the same as BF2. Its going to look a lot like BC2 but larger with more options. It will probably even feel like BC2 to a degree because of the engine.

Having a single player is not the end of the world. Besides, even if it didnt have a single player, it will still be like every other DICE game and wont be playable the first two weeks because of server overload and hitboxes will be bad anyway.

Honestly if it was co-op I would welcome it 100%, co-op FPS games are the best.

tbh I don't mind since they have said Co-op and you can reuse a hell of a lot of in game material anyway

they have to have single player when their goal is to sell more copies than call of duty. Certainly not happy about development resources being taken away from the multiplayer but I'm sure they will manage.

Yeah, but I dont think they will. Even though it looks like they are making a PC specific game, they are still going to make all the versions close to the same and console has that instant thing.

Im not saying its not possible and DICE is going through a lot of trouble to make two different types of BF3, but I would be surprised if that is the case.
