Since it's the same war as BF2 maybe it will be interesting to have a story finally explain what is going on. Although I did like those little paragraphs while waiting for the map to load.

I do have a feeling Single player NY and Multiplayer NY will be the same, although I hope im wrong. I don't want a small SP map for MP, but rather influenced but bigger. They can have the artillery on Liberty Island and people can snipe out of the statue of liberty's head! A

Rambo, its not going to be the same as BF2. Its going to look a lot like BC2 but larger with more options. It will probably even feel like BC2 to a degree because of the engine.Crunch

Nope. They have stated in the article (cant be bothered to dig it up) that The 4 from BC will be on the sidelines this time (well seeing as BF3 is set in the middle east, that sideline may be in a different battlefield universe...)

It will be, BC has no bearing or crossover into the BF3 story, two separate universes. BF3 sp is going to kind of be like the MOH: PA sp.

I dont believe it will be like that. It will look and feel like BC2 because of the engine. Maps, mechanics, weapons and all that will make it like BF2.

I think its going to be a hybrid and hopefully (like I think we all agree on) the best of both styles.

too bad all the time spent on single player can be instead spent on fixing bugs and making more multiplayer maps...

of course, we BF vets aren't the target for that, it's to reel in new gamers to the BF series and they think single player is a good way to do that. can't really blame them though, there are a lot of people out there that like single player (esp. COD fans).

One of the DICE devs said BF3 had a dev team twice as large as BC2... and almost 4 times as large as BF2 - I think they can spare a couple of guys to work on co-op and SP.

Besides, its probably not going to require much thought. From the sounds of things the SP is more down to earth. No scalar weapons, no orbital EMP's. Just a plain quart-realistic Modern arcade multiplayer shooter, like the first 4.

No SP put all work in MP. Then we get earlier release date or beter MP. This game meant to be Mp thats my opinion.

And besides. If its on console it kinda needs one. Especially on the 360 as you have to pay for online. Make it online only and you will piss off a lot of people.

the reason for single players seems to be because of consoles. on consoles, they know not everyone plays online so it's their only way to sell the game to those people. i guess this is a compromise between pc and console versions.
