When I was growing up I thought the same thing and in about 10 years a lot of it changed.

In 10 years if you still think that, either you were around a lot of stupid people or something is wrong with you.

This isnt for anyone here specific, just what I noticed over time.

I should clarify; I didn't think everyone older than me was stupid, just those people who particularly went out of their way to talk down to me or complain about "kids these days." There's just a certain subset of people who seem to take pleasure in complaining about people younger than them as they get older. In my experience they're the least competent.

I agree with Jake on that as well. I've been discriminated because of age before and its been the only thing in my life that bugs me, which I guess now it really doesn't.

I always notice its the middle ground.

In fact I think all people does that, at least subconsciously. But most of us also realize that it is more about feelings than fact.

Crunch is right on the age thing. Your perspective will change over time in how you view and play games. But you can pretty much count on the fact that there will be some gamers who play for the status/stats and some who play for the fun and enjoyment. The disagreements between those two groups have been going on since gaming started.

As I aged I definitely noticed a character change from being more aggressive and confrontational to being more easy going and watching the sparks fly as opposed to being the cause of the sparks. Besides, it's fun to watch and then take care of business instead of duking it out every single time. My cousin used to be a pro gamer as in he was on salary and sponsored and he always told me that the key to playing well is to never put yourself in a situation where you can get killed for nothing. If you're gonna die make sure it was to help your team. I find when I was younger that is how I played, "run and gun" and then get killed for nothing. These days I play much smarter and it shows on the leader board.

And then sometimes I just sit back and snipe. But no matter what I do, I always try to help my team.

When you get old you will get annoyed that some punk asz 12 year olds has changed your favorite long term game into some twilight version with dazzling lights and superpower perks cliche' thats completely void of a realistical story what so ever.:p
