took me one round to go 35-0 in a mig..........AA might be beefed up but the players ability to use it has dropped significantly.........The lag/rubberbanding is just so horrendous for me that infantry combat is pretty much impossible or simply a crap shoot....I've been sticking to jets but to be perfectly honest destroying someones fun by bombing the crap out them has stopped being entertaining..............ohh how i need BF3.

Ah, but thats how it started in BF:H.
Just appearel, nothing that affects the game they said.
But soon you could buy boosts that allowed you to gain their ingame currency faster (BEP? I don't recall the name), which again allowed you to buy more bandages so you had a better chance of surviving a fight.
And then came the Cash-only weapons.......

And then the extras got just a bit better over time, and maybe you also need to buy a boost or two so you could get bandages etc.?

Without going into details, so far I have tried 2 bought guns, and the default ones are better anyways.

The level field is that you can't get the guns for free forever, but they are not so expensive that they are impossible to buy, however I would like the equipment management screen to work differently.

I think most expenses would go into getting apparel and a couple more character slots; I've checked and the price is not outrageous, I think a lot of people would invest at least on two extra character slots and some customization for gear appareance. *shrugs* you can buy it already, I guess that's where they get their funds from.

I'm not getting killed more by cash shop items so I'd say it's balanced.

Other "heavy" investment would be the double exp for rank up boosts; now THOSE are expensive for what they do and the time they last.

At any rate, I've ranked to level 11 in two days of casual play, heavy training will start by level 20 I guess.

It is good now, but I fear what will happen once they leave the Beta with free Battlefunds.
The whole idea requires that the special items are attractive enough to spend cash on, and that made me leave BF:H

I dont mind paying, but I want a level playing field

since there is no artillery it feels a lot more fair; you can still base rape to your heart's content with the choppers and planes tough, only you have to be more precise; so far and 50 games in I have yet to sigh and get my ulcer going from game rage.

I'm hoping they follow this model for BF3 air assets damage; even if AA ends up being worthless, the fact you have to be more precise with the explosive weapons adds a layer of fairness for both the pilot and the poor field runner.

Or maybe it's people with the armor bonus for tanks? I've seen planes needing 2 bombing runs to take out a tank and the rockets from the chopper have to be very focused but not as much as the BC2 ones. The gatling guns still own everything tough.

Krnuch were you playing a bit ago? there was one KapnKrunch on my team.
No, thats not me. Im CptainCrunch in that game too

It's actually the 16-player Karkand with the addition of the fountain flag:

Well, I don't know how it was when guys form here first tested it; right now it runs better than BF2, installs fast, loads fast, has a kickass menu music and the unlock tree isn't half bad.

You have to "learn" to pilot anything that is not a gorund vehicle, and again you have to unlock the coaxial gun and the rocket for the APC; it brings back the dart gun from BC2, from what I have seen you can still pull a lot of the maneuvers in a jet that you could in BF2 BUT now the anti air has more range and the rockets are faster, and it seems the planes follow physics closer to real air; so no more coasting at 20 mph at 15 feet and bombing runs have to be more precise.

Explosives (wich you have to unlock, and I refer to grenades) have more power but less radius, so you have to land your grenades closer to the objective. Tank cannon and APC main gun have a lot of splash damage against armor, but against infantry you need to really hit them dead center to kill; so no more easy base raping with a tank (you can still make it work, and all armor can take a beating; you can upgrade armor too with unlocks that are general)

Since I'm only allowed to make two soldiers in this beta, and you get locked to whatever class you choose; I think I'll try engineer next after the medic; but I think it's neat you have to commit to your character.

The autobalance is kinda iffy, apart from people disconnecting, it switches the top scores around after a full round, I guess in order to balance or even things out a bit but I'd like to know how it works.

Currently there are still minor bugs like the parachute prompt flashing on the screen on 2 inches jumps and some of the voice overs are lackluster tough more "realistic" and the Comm rose is more like a comm flat thing that doesn't really work; but after not having it in BC2 you take whatever you can.

Currently the beta rotates Gulf of Oman and a very balanced, much more fun without all the grenade spam 32 player version of Strike at Karkand. And MAN would you be surprised at the ammount of team play and tactics displayed, not bad for pubs only.

Every once in a while you get the flyboy that from his style alone you can tell he whored the jet to death on BF2, but those bombing runs don't work anymore and you can't snipe I think with the jet; I see a lot more people manning the stingers so that should help too.

I actually got a beta key as well. It's easy to tell it's made by the Heroes devs, it's very similar in the whole layout of the game, but it's actually pretty fun. Nothing amazing, both BF2 and BC2 are better games by themselves and I won't be playing this for long. But for a game that's designed to draw a lot of new people in and be some semi-casual fun... it's pretty good.

Its similiar to the arguments against BF3 and how its a watered down console port that is actually BC3. No one has played BF3 or seen multiplayer, yet its an afront to the great BF2. Just like this game that "fans" will never play but go by assumption since nothing can be as great as BF2.

But you're right, it is your opinion.

So are you saying you are disapointed that DICE allowed EAsy Studio to make an online version of a game that gamers left behind and will destroy the good memories of that game that die hard BF2 fans will not play anyway?

Im just so disappointed to read all this posts. Its clearly that Dice allows a other company destroy the good impressions that BF2 had left behind with the awesome gameplay it gave us, after we moved on to next generation games.

    Re: Battlefield Play4free

I received a beta invitation today, installed it and I'm having a blast.

The unlock system doesn'tmake sense but it's fun to unlock things, and it's very fast paced tough I haven't found a way to prone so maybe it's like BC2?

I'm having fun, it runs great on integrated graphics so if you are having trouble maybe try downgrading the graphics a bit? It doesn't let you customize stuff anyways, so if you can't run it on medium, try maximizing screen and setting it to lower effects.
    Sound is great.
