My friend just text me that they updated the game and now it crashes. I have yet to try.

Works fine for me. There are some people that have gotten a fair bit of a fps boost, while it's unchanged for some.

Despite the lag/stutter, I can still have fun with the game. But it seriously needs some kind of carrot to work towards.
You no longer need to work to unlock attachments or camo, and that was one of the better challenges before.
As it is now, I don't really feel the urge to put on any camo at all since there isn't really any trophy value to it.

Likewise I am completely unable to grasp the appeal of prestige. The people behind that idea must be able to make even Sisyphus think that has was making progress

But otherwise I think the game is pretty balanced. I like the flakvest that makes you resistant to grenade and grenade-car spam, I just wish they had include a stab-proof vest. too.

Nah, I think Kevlar will do.

New issue: the latest two evenings, the game has refused to launch. I get a quick steam-popup with "launching black ops" or something like that, and then nothing.
I have even tried booting into my old XP 32 bit with the same result.
But it worked well enough when I tried it earlier yesterday.

Has anybody seen the same? I am guessing that it has something to do with overloaded steam servers or stuff like that.

Working fine here in Canada Vreki, but I haven't had many issues with Black ops, I guess I'm just one of the lucky ones.

I agree, the camo's should have been unlocked with certain challenges, not a simple purchase. I know at prestige 14 you get gold but besides that? there really is nothing.

Hopefully Treyarch introduce more with DLC, and better yet, why not have community created camo's I cam sure there would be some great additions.

"Verify integrity of game cache" seems to have fixed that particular issue, although it didn't actually find any errors. Or maybe it is just a matter of timing.

Because the "community" created camo will mostly consist of genitals, swastikas and swastikas made of genitals.

That happened to me about once a week with MW2. I would have to try opening it multiple times before it would actually do it.
