25+ servers since last night. Not quite dead. I keep hearing 1.51 will come out when they finish prepping 2142 for its release on Steam. But who knows if thats even happening. You think it would though...

Usually I see at least two and neither of them have Karkland in their rotation. I'm going back to 1.5 seeing there's not much buzz in the beta and there's no telling when we'll see a final.

yea it would've helped if they mentioned the public beta test on the BF blog but not a single word about it... i bet most ppl don't even know about it.

I read when closed beta was announced but has it reached public beta?

Besides, I juste hope it'll breath new life in the game a little when it's finally released on Steam...

Yes it is currently in public beta, you can get it here.

I'm guessing part of the wait is just getting it on Steam. Valve actually has quality control, and isnt going to take the BS EA gave with EA Link, which thanks to I have had to buy both a digital and hard copy of 2142 and NS.

Thanks for the link. As for getting the Steam version, I may consider it myself. I have the hard copy of 2142, plus NS that I downloaded from EA Link and that combination is such a hassle to install/patch. I was considering getting the Deluxe Edition. Anyone knows if there are some issues with it, when it comes to patching?

only issue I've had with DE is when you patch, its safest to apply the last patch 3 times, as it seems every now and then something forgets to get patched.

Having two copies has really saved me though; I got DE when my EA link version died, then I had some major issues with DE not working and went back to EAL, and now I'm back to DE.

I don't need EA Link for NS anymore, because I found where the setup file was hidden during the NS installation and I backed it up. But it's still annoying having to patch BF prior to install NS, then patch the whole thing again...

patch should've been out already... when beta was out, baza made it seem like it was going to be out in no time... taking forever ugh...

i played last night for the first time in a while and all i could ping was 25 servers TOTAL. didn't realize it had died off THIS much. at this pace, i wonder if the 1.51 will actually be introduced.

The only thing that is keeping the patch process barely moving is the flamboyancy of the remaining players pestering them to no end.
