Yeah, if it was such great quality, why are there no close ups or people in the pics? Because they are the size of our letters in this post? Because they are carved by chinese children and we will see their blood? Lets see some close ups and a scale.

My guess from all the images I saw is cheap plastic chess made in China, how ironic.

Wow, thats a lot of editions.

I loved the first one and all, but I think I will just stick with the standard one myself. I wish they showed the chess set better. Hope its not cheap plastic or something like that. It doesnt have to be carved out of stone or anything, but itd be nice to know how it really is.

So i went to game store today to talk about this and release date.

There a 4 editions of the game:shock::shock::shock::shock:


Basic edition $99Aud

Special addition 129Aud(contains unlock codes?)

Limited edition $150?(comes with box,maps,above and some other crap)

Commander edition on sale $169(normally she said $200-220:shock:)
(this comes with box,maps,genie and 3 wishes,codes,other crap and a very very cool
Samurai chess set:shock:

Im tempted to go back and pre order this commander edition, I really want this chess set.

haha yeh England was always great in Medieval 2 and Empire etc, inability of the AI to perform sea invasions helped

I used the kingdoms grand campaign mod for MTW2, made playing as England so much harder, especially after the AI got fixed

same as Empire, you really got to keep your navy around since they fixed the AI and would land armies in the british isles hehe

In shogun 2 Im probably gonna place more emphasis on natural land barriers, such as rivers and bridges, as those are good places to defend from (love river crossing rape in Empire etc) the terrain in Japan lends itself to that. I think it will be very difficult if you get into long wars against naval capable powers though

I hope the AI takes advantage of invasions more often, in a-lot of TW games they have this bug where the AI will just leave a boat filled with men sitting near a beach not doing anything.

I remember playing shogun 1 about a year ago as the faction on the far left of the island against the water. There was one faction above me that i needed to take care of but i noticed that they were doing something very clever that i have never seen in a TW game before. I was recruiting a huge army to take them over and I realized they were also, when i stopped recruiting so did they almost like if they knew I was coming. That was very refreshing then most games where i build a huge army and steam-role cities with only a couple of units in it.

That's why UK is so popular in TW, it's easy mode most of the time.

Yeah, I always chose the clans by the seas as well. In Shogun 1 I played the clan that was landlocked AND divided, I didnt think I was going to pull that off.

they have done it right, read a good preview the other day that described the campaign AI as "fiendish"

there it is, its an early preview build I believe, but still the campaign AI should be murderous hehe, the sea won't totally protect me, but will give me some space to breathe haha, besides I love naval battles
