What Einstein said is not just 4D, but a special type of linear vector space called Minkowski space. It's not really hard to explain if you can think in terms of tensors and Einstein notation.

But it is hard...because most people dont think like that.

I was just saying. I'm very familiar with the theory of relativity.

            Re: Really?

Some people just think too much.

What you people have confused is thinking I was talking about a game being in "the 4th dimension" and not "4D".

It's like if someone said that movie is in 3d and you thought it was in the "3rd dimension" but what it means is that is in 3 dimensional view.

A 4-D film (sometimes written 4D film) is a marketing term that describes an entertainment presentation system combining a 3-D film with physical effects in the theatre, which occur in synchronization with the film. Because the physical effects are expensive to set up, 4-D films are usually presented only at special venues such as theme parks and amusement parks. However, in Korea, some movie theatres also have the ability to present a 4-D film and the film Avatar was one of 10 films that have received the treatment, starting with Journey to the Center of the Earth.[1]

Some theme parks and cinemas choose to name such venues 4-D (four dimensional), although they are not literally four-dimensional[2]. The idea of calling an experience with effects 4D is merely an extension of videos progressing from 2-D to the more immersive 3-D (neither game nor movie can be produced in true 4-D). Some of the effects simulated in 4-D films include rain, wind, strobe lights, and vibration. The use of water sprays and air jets is also common. A 4-D film is not shown in a motion simulator, although some seats in 4-D venues vibrate or may move a few inches during the presentation.
I was taking 4d a little further than this though; as in bullets flying at you.

Lol, really. Why in the world are we venturing into 4D gaming, that will NEVER happen; and there's no reason to, since our sight cant bend into the next dimention, everything would look like an optical illusion :P

I'm a fan of the 3D movement. I only wish that the extra hardware required for it wasn't so damn expensive. I really want the nVidia tech for PC gaming in 3D but it's too expensive, especially when you toss in a 120Hz monitor.

I have quite enjoyed the first Left 4 Dead in 3D already though and on the PC. I just used the old style blue and red 3D glasses and the special feature in nVidia's drivers. It may screw up the colors, but the effect was amazing. Which is also why I want the nVidia tech with the glasses and separate hardware because at least then the colors wouldn't be washed out.

i liked avatar. but if i get into that 3d thing it will be when there wont be needed glasses to see 3d, wich is already possible

It is one of those things that I will need to try before buying.
Recently I had the chance to try a system using polarized glasses and two projectors, that is used for training at a local hospital.
It was very convincing, but I don't know how it would feel to be using for several hours each day.

Yeah, really. I already feel like I spend enough on gaming. Do I really need a $1200 computer in life? Not really when most of everything I do is on the web. So, gaming is hella expensive and if you start tacking this stuff onto your 'gaming rig' and not your home TV, yeah, you are getting expensive.

Besides, does this add to the motion sickness effect?
