They wont do it though, too much work involved for them its easier to release 1 map for all bit of a shame really.

That is why mod support should have been released with the game. Let the PC players make the maps and then DICE can approve the ones they like and release as a free map pack. That way DICE still has control of what is released for the game.

Im in the SC2 beta since february but your account is reset each patches so there's little point to keep playing unless you really enjoy it or want to be a 1337 pgm at the game release, but having played Company of Heroes competitively I know it becomes more frustrating than anything when you reach a higher level (and you have to constantly watch a lot of replays and be informed of new tactics). I rather wait for the solo and play the multi for fun with friends.

So right now I play nothing. I'm waiting for new maps and wondering if I reinstall BF2 for FH2.

Mod support for BC2? One can dream I guess.

The big question is will BF3 be able to bring back the magic of BF2. I thought BC2 would but I think it fell short.

My concern is that if they do release a map pack, they'll make the same mistake they did with BF2 and try and charge for it...limiting its deployment base. DiCE needs to stop it with repackaging a game with old code and calling it something different. Now with the digital age and DLC easy to release, they don't need to make another BF Vietnam or BF 2142 where they split up the community and user base. Dividing their talent to work on a step-child project takes away their growth in dominating a single market. And this modern shooter market is very competitive too so they need to play it right or this title, for as much as it has made them, will start to drop off in sales instead of continuing to gain 'late-comer' sales like myself.

As for allowing MOD support. WTF are they thinking? It seems like EVERYTHING in this game is stolen ideas from the MOD community in general. Hardcore mode...that sure has hell looks like Project Reality to me! Battlefield2...stolen again from Desert Combat! Various forms of attack like Rush...hmmm...

I think they have been listening to the forums over the last 7 years. They knew what not to do when it came to overstretching themselves, but I they need to keep up on the DLC if they want to keep the servers full.

But that issue is there regardless of the number of rank, pins and unlocks available to you.
I like having a goal too, but you must have OCD to keep playing for that goal if the game sucks otherwise.

I'm a little bit on the OCD side, I like having goals and things to do in game, but when doing those things gets tiring/boring, (which it was never in games like BF2/2142 heck even the cod series) it starts putting me off playing totally.

Every game gets old eventually. Soon you'll be coughing up money for new MoH, Crysis 2 and COD7 later this year.

Still need to resharpen your skill every now and then.

Casual gamer, I play what I feel like.

There's no "urge" to jump in BFBC2 and frag for 6 hours, where I had that in BF2142. BF2142 was just fun, titan was fun, knifing was fun, gunship was my favorite, assault class, maps, oh man! A reason why I played for 3 years.

BFBC2 well, lacks the tactical element, just a bunch of guys rushing in the meat grinder and a little bit of deathmatch, not so much of BF2 teamwork.

I'll be on Command and Conquer series if anyone needs me :)

I'm through buying anymore FPS for the time being and will wait until BF3 comes out. If the players that have bought BF3 can give it legimate positive views after the first month then I will probably be a buyer. No more MoH, COD etc. etc. I will still play BC2 but it is getting stale and repetitive.

I doubt that BF3 will roll out before the end of next year. DICE is working on MoH MP, Mirror's Edge 2 and possbily BC3 as well. After all, BC series is their best cash cow right now.

I will highly likely to buy Crysis 2, COD7 and MoH all from later this year to next year, but COD7 will probably be the last COD I'll ever play. Crysis 2 will definitely steal the wow at the end of the year. As for MoH, it will be just another intermediate step toward BF3. They say it will not be another BC2, and probably will be a bit more toward the direction of realism and player customization.

As for the game play, BC2 has it all. BF2142 NS reached the zenith of gameplay, but BF2 gets more logevity due to more and better content. Boy Conquest Assault with Goliath is undescriptibly fun. BC2 is very limited in terms of content. Just a handful of vehicles, small maps, limited player freedom made this game quite repetitive very soon. The elements for good game is all there in BC2.

It is highly likely that the server program of BC2 is still very buggy and cannot deal with large player count. After all, it is already overstretched with 32p. Having played on some low player count games, the difference is amazing. In order to handle large player count, they have to reprogram from ground up to utilize the power of current and nextgen server tech.

you have 7 days and 16 hours in the game, take a freaking break. Almost double my time and i have been playing since it came out. Playing 8-10 hours a day would burn anyone out.

For one major problem I see with BFBC2 is the short game.

Once one side gains momentum, it will continue to do so. If one side is suddenly losing terribly, players will leave. Then it's another 16 v 10 kind of game.

That ruins it.

Where BF2 and BF2142, there are so many options available to turn the tide of battle. There's attack choppers, stealthy flanking manuevers (karkand), tanks, and decent cover for players to enjoy.

I want my BF "epicness" back! That 200 ticket battles for 64 v 64 games.

I didn't care for the game to begin with. It's great on console and a lot of fun but just not my cup of tea on pc. I am positive APB will fill my void of no good game to play until and after BF3 is released.

APB might be a different type of game but it's basically an entire new genre. It's still got an FPS feel to it and it is loads of fun. It might not be an army type game but damn it's fun.

For 64v64 (128p), the ticket number needs to be raised to 400-800 per round. That would be definitely epic. We are talking about company level at that scale.

184 hrs of gameplay in 60 days would make most games seem boring. Is there no other hobbies for fun or other games to play?
