I also use the AEK often, it's a great weapon. I don't use it for close quarters as much though, I usually switch to the 40 mike mike shotgun and use that then quickly switch to the AEK and finish him off. The AEK-971 with magnum is amazing at range.

I was lucky enough to have a friend working at Logitech, who gave me a BETA of the G9 mouse or something like that. It was all packaged and everything, he was really nice. I had a G3 before that.

Anyway, both mice can change their DPI on the fly, and have 2 extra buttons that are easily used for knifing or something you might need to use often. It works wonders when you're sniping and need to be pixel-precise when in really long range. Or when trying to get accurate tank shots off.

yer, on the fly DPI changing does come in handy

I typically keep it on full DPI, which for this mx518 is something like 1800, I only ever change it for long ranges, either sniping, 4x scoping or the occasional long distance UAV strike

otherwise I tend to over shoot and hit everything but the target at range lol

I've actually found it to be the opposite - AEK is decent in closer quarters and absolute rubbish at range. I get more consistant hits and quicker kills with the UMP at long range than I do the AEK. Of course, I'm also the idiot that still takes the 40mm shotgun despite blowing someone's face off from 3 ft away and somehow leaving them with 64 health, so pay no attention to the man in the straight jacket here. :p

My default is at 400 dpi on Lachesis, for flying is maxed. For boating and fishing, it is around 1,500 dpi.

at extremely long ranges I do lower my mouse dpi, makes it easier

I'm the only idiot using AEK, in a close combat situation they win because my recoil will eventually kick my shots off his body.

I'm countering it with M2 Gustav through :)

What I don't like about 4x magnification is that no decrease in movement speed is given to you while zoomed... so if you have a tendency to make quick hand movement, you'll be facing backwards before you know it.

Not cool.

For that reason, I only use the red dot on my assault/engi/medic kits.

Or you could just turn the mouse less quickly?

You can't get headshots as easily without the 4x scope. Oh and the 4x scope makes headshots easier than slicing butter with a hot ka-bar.

a lot of people say its beastly with the RDS, but I prefer range

I don't like the 4x scope on any of the weapons. Feels too myopic for me thus making it harder to engage medium and near by targets.

just put a 4x scope on it, aim and spam the bursts as fast as you can

fires from the hip comfortably as well while moving

I must be using this weapon wrong. I find that the AN94 pales in comparison to the M16. I only use it now to get my bronze and then I'll put it away forever. It sux.

I just platted my first gun yesterday - the AEK - and I've moved up to the XM8. Compared to the AEK, even the XM8 feels like the Hand of God so I can only imagine how good the AN-94 is. Likely by the time I get to playing with it, though, it'll be nerfed back down to a more normal level. But I've noticed that the medics who always use the M60 now seem to always use the AN-94 when they go assault. When they fail to get the kill with their 40mm nade, that is.

you won't want the M16 after using the AN94 trust me
