new knifing pays hommage to 2142!

it's been hilarious seeing enemies think they have you knifed easily only get the hitreg bug!
had it happen twice tonight, one guy snuck up behind me while i was hiding and he shanked me like 3 times, i saw my own blood splash each time and i thought it was my teammate just messing around with me (since i didn't die), but when i turned around saw it was the enemy and promptly put my knife into him and got my kill on my first try!

I had a similiar thing happen to me y'day, in a building lookin out the window, heard a "HUHHHHH" noise (person trying to knife). Promptly span and knifed him in the face :)

reading the 'other' forum - there are TONS of complaints of NO knife kills - even after 5 hits and flying blood
seems to work if hit is in the face (not back) or if target is moving

they also mention "lung attack" - what does that mean?
how do you do it?

Not "lung" but "lunge". And as far as I know, it happens automatically.

Tbh I have found that aslong as you are in range and look directly at the enemy the knife will connect. There is a point where you can attempt to knife (lunge) but won't hit because you aren't in range.

Also the lunge is the forward thrust movement you make when you attempt to knife someone (it looks like you are going to gouge the enemies eyes out), opposed to the slash animation you make when not knifing an enemy although sometimes you can kill people with the slash.

More annoying is that I have knifed a guy in the face, at least twice, before he knifed me.

Try to knife another guy in the back three times, but, lucky me this time, moved to his side and finally knifed him.

Knifing bug definitely needs to be fixed.

Lunge? I must have faced masters ninjas of the knife then, with the speed they lunged and distance they crossed it's almost called teleportation. And I remember one time pre-patch I knifed a guy in my back, he was really close and moved behind me but the knife still worked even though I stabbed nothing in front of me.

Apart from the rubber knife nothing has changed, the lunge was here from day one.

Knifed 3x! Luckily, that guy didn't notice it so I shot him instead. Weird.

On the other hand in Bf2 I have no knife kills.

had the back slashing thing myself, was quite funny, just reminded me to shoot them instead of knifing, much less pain

Slashing wit the knife doesn't seem to work so well now. Stabbing works.

For the safest bet, I use a gun, the knife withdraw delay is too long for me to take another stab at the target.
