Personnaly I need them to give me an objective ingame otherwise I rather stay on PR/FH2 and Red Orchestra. Bah, it's not like I payed BC2 anyway.

Sorry but, I'm Generation X Sure I like the badges and all, it add a little something in the game, but also a lot of career point. But when you got no more thing that gives you instant 5000 career points, it make leveling a bit boring. If badges are just toys for you then you should feel the same for ranks.

I wonder if the game will have the same success if there was no achievements at all. Heck I even played Multiplayer Operation Flashpoint a decade ago. which was the true first battlefield game and spend more time on it than every BF series, yet there was no reward or anything to collect.

I think thats it. BF2 brought us all these little tokens and 2142 even moreso and then CoD followed that and added tons more and so on and forth that it now doesnt interest some.

I tend to play a game to be playing it, and to get the trinkets, so I tend to just enjoy the game itself. If I get everything, that doesnt bother me. Not that this is wrong or anything, but I think its strange that people are done with a game because they ranked up and/or received all the awards. What about the rest of the game?

I don't care about ranks, I am already trudging along at Lv 25. (Wow lv in a BF series)

I play just to have fun, once I unlocked everything, it's not like a single rank will give me an extra advantage over others.

We all will get to lv 50 eventually :)

It's like watching a pot of water boil, no need to rush, it will eventually.

Until I see someone with all weapons and vehicles at Platinum, along with all of the insignias, no one is "done" with the game. There will be SOMETHING to chase for a long time. Watch, a few months from now I'll be using the boats and M93R exclusively. (ohno)

I don't know for others but as for myself I go for awards when I find the game boring, because I like to get everything before stopping playing a game. If the awards/ranks are a pain in the *** to get I don't even bother. Btw I won't go for gold/platinum stars, too long to get, same for ranks.

eck I even played Multiplayer Operation Flashpoint a decade ago. which was the true first battlefield game and spend more time on it than every BF series, yet there was no reward or anything to collect.
It's maybe the game I spent the most time, the modding was incredible, one of the greatest game evar.

Go out and make some money or pay attention to your family. Geeze, does anyone know what they would do if you gave up playing for like a month?

I think a lot of the "release groupies" will clear away once the game has been going from 6 to 12 months. I certainly plan on getting to 50, and, as my usual goal, hope to get all stars and awards. I couldnt care less about K/D or other stats.

Dont forget the kid that killed the cab driver to see if it was really easy to kill people like in GTA.

Whats expected when the xbox is the babysitting tool and then its ripped away? You have people that simply cannot handle gaming or any type of hobie without going to the extreme. I dont think there are any easy answers for these type of issues. Many believe that if it was video games that was the trigger, it was going to be something else.
