I'll take the M416 anyday. There's only so much a burst fire gun can do at close range. M416 has amazing hip-fire at short to medium range.

I have voted for the M16A4, but I also like to use the M416 as well as the AN and Steyr Aug. All the others are just meh and I am happy not relying on them anymore.

while a guy with an m416 will have to refrain from holding fire if he wants to hit someone, he has to wait and burst

with the M16 you can fire that burst so god dam fast its close to full auto anyway and you still hit the guy you are attacking

all while moving etc

yes I can hit people as well doing that my point being

with an M16 I can maintain a stupidly high ROF while moving and hitting the guy more, with the 416 full autoing is very unreliable, thus the better players learn to burst people at close to medium like an M16 does

the 416 is a great gun, but strangely enough for a gun that is supposed to do more damage it doesn't seem to pack the same punch as an M16

when I use the M16 I feel like ZEUS himself is on mah side

Personally I felt the M16 lacked the power compared to the M416. You are right about burst fire in close to medium range but in short range it just can't compete with fully automatic which is probably an assualt rifles weakest point anyway. But either way it's better we all like a range of weapons because otherwise it wouldn't be as much fun
