ATI and NVIDIA released new drivers

Both ATI and NVIDIA released new drivers that claim better performance in BC2. If youve been having problems with FPS or crashing issues, you may want to check these out.

    Just an FYI.

I'm having some weirdness with these drivers. The "Apply" button only pops up once. Meaning I can adjust my fan speed and hit apply. Then if I want to adjust it again I have to close out the Nvidia control panel and start it up again. I have to restart the CP for each change to apply.

They have it listed as a "Known Issue" in the release notes but I don't think they've added it yet.

              Too bad.
              But this is interesting:
ATI Catalyst™ support for 3D Stereoscopic glasses
AMD has updated it’s Direct3D (Quad buffer support) driver to enable 3rd party
middleware vendors such as iZ3D to output stereo L/R images at 120 Hz (60 Hz per
              eye)

This isn't even funny. Out of the 8 people in my clan that I talked to last night, 5 of us have Nvidia and 3 ATI. ALL of us had one new problem or another since installing the new drivers. I have my strange issue, two guys don't have SLI anymore, ATI guys still have long load times in anything but DX9, one guy with a 4870 is having hard locks while playing.

                Fun times.

In case you haven't been reading, ATI's drivers have been causing issues with BFBC2 as well.

I think I will pass on this driver update.

Yeah, I wish I had tested it before letting my clan know about it. I'm almost always the guy with the news in my clan, so they all followed my links to the latest drivers. At least I saved them from the ones that made certain cards practically catch fire!

Re: ATI and NVIDIA released new drivers

Im surprisd everyone is having all these issues. Nvidia went through this huge process after the last problem with their other drivers. I dont know what ATIs deal is. I left them years ago because their drivers were always crap. I mean, to have the SLI issues after this patch is suppose to improve that very function.

When I update my video drivers, I usually uninstall everything first then install all the new stuff. I even uninstall the nvidia tools. I do not run SLI and I dont really adjust too many settings other than fan speeds.

If you are not having issues, it sounds like you should wait until the next release.

                              Nvidia is going downhill.

Good thing I went ATI :)
