I would play in DX10 if the load times were sorted for ATi cards as I can get nice fps, but for now Im on DX9 since I can load in quickly :)

I get bad loading times as well, even with an SSD.

I play DX11 all high, 4x AA and no HBAO or Vsync. I use a Sapphire 5850 1000/1200mhz

Jump from 9 to 10 is justified, I can't see taking that big of a hit in performance for the jump to 11... Looked purty though :) Thanks for the link.

As for me, my measly amd quad with a 9500gs is running 1680x1050 with:

Vsync and HBOA are off
AA 1x AF1x
everything else Set to medium, (except for shadows which are set to low) in dx10

runs good enough for me... Question is should I lower the resolution to 720p and bump up the settings? Or just save my pennies for a new graphics card :laugh:

After looking at some comparisons the differences between DX9 10 and 11 look so small that its not worth taking the frame rate hit?

^^^What are you talking about? I run DX11 with everything maxed out and get a consistant 70fps no matter the situation. The game is smooth as ice. Reverting to DX10 to get an increase in frames from anything over 60fps is pointless.

DX10 but thinking to go to DX9 so I can have vehicles when the games begin. Really disgusting to not having a warmup.

interesting strategy for those who suffer from the DX10 long load time. for me DX10 did load quite fast when i did try it though.

I use Window XP so that's obviously DX9. My reason? I have Windows 7, but the game runs 10-15fps slower on DX10 vs DX9 on Windows 7 64Bit (i haven't tried 32Bit yet). DX9 on XP is faster than DX9 on Windows 7. On XP I get an average of about 50fps with highs of 60fps @ 1920x1080 with everything set to low except for under/overgrowth(those are set to high).

All of this is actually very annoying considering the fact that i have a decently fast computer and also because the game ran faster during the beta at higher settings than i'm using now before they did their "performance tweak". Also, there is an fps difference of only 5fps when i go from 1024x768 to 1920x1080 or any resolution in between.

yea resolution didn't affect fps a whole bunch for me, so i use my monitor's max resolution. i wonder what that means, perhaps CPU is holding things back a little?

Yes but differents peoples rigs are capable of different things. What im saying is that GRAPHICALLY DX9 doesnt look that much worse if at all compared to DX11.

My game is on auto, but I'm using two 5770's in crossfire which are DX11 so I hope it's actually setting to DX11. =P

Of what I have seen so far from comparisons of DX9/10/11, the only difference is slightly better looking smoke and particle effects and DX9 has higher fps because it cannot run the same effects as DX10/11. Really it all comes down to preference and hardware capability. If your computer can handle DX10/11 with 60+fps, by all means use it.

I personally will be sticking with DX9 because it runs faster on my computer than DX10 and because I can't spend the monies to build a completely new computer due to other obligations. Not having a job right now really limits your gaming budget .

It's very subtle, you notice it more after seeing the DX11 graphics, then going back to DX9; kind of like playing the latest Batman game with physix on, then off.

I would think performance would be DX9 and quaility 11. So if you want the two, 10 would be the middle ground.

I dont know that for sure though, I just use 10.

DX11 is supposed to be better for performance and quality than DX10 because of its "for hardware" optimizations, not sure if that is true in game though.
