We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
You said you could prove this claim (A Battlefield fan is less likely to move between CS and BF2) with xfire stats. I said you couldn't. What's out of context?
People using xfire are as likely to not to be PC gamers as people using Steam. These two programs dont separate peoples platform preference, but only game preference. And were talking about platforms. Your claim that not everyone is using xfire is as valid given the context as claiming that e-polls arent as valid (on lets say a subject of everyday life) because not everyone is using the internet. Disregarding the context.

You're kidding, right? E-polls aren't even close to being scientifically valid! Where did you study statistics? I shouldn't have to explain why xfire data isn't valid proof of any argument. This is ridiculous.

WTF is this? This is absurd. He clearly stated that "The problem with your theory is the fact console game sales squish pc gaming sales" and then you said "Lets not forget that you directly challenged my argument that console game sales are higher than PC game sales which I disproved in numbers directly proving that you were either lying or you were completely uninformed." Now you say he's never claimed that you misunderstood him?
What did he mean then when he wrote this? "I'm the one that brought up pc gaming sales being lower than console sales. You are just all around confused man."

Tell me the exact reasons why I cant use recorded time in xfire to draw out certain patterns and behaviour? Right now, youre claiming that my methods are wrong without any argumentation whatsoever. Let me ask you this- where did you study debating?

I brought it up twice, twice. He didnt correct me saying that this is exactly what he meant. Either its easy to misinterprete, or its exactly what he meant. And you didnt even challenge that post until he brought up the "confused" punch. Infact, nobody did. So relax, if he clarifies it, we can chalk it up as a misunderstanding and you can resume your lurking.

Only if you are drawing patterns about xfire users. Just like you can't use statistics from steam stats on games you don't need steam to play.

The behavioural difference between a Steam using PC gamer and xfire using PC gamer is nonexistant. We remain "loyal" to a certain game for a longer time, even if there are new games coming out, the permanent transition takes a much longer time than a console gamers. This "theory" does not come from researching xfire stats, but rather verified by them.
The only difference that Steam gives us is people having different games in their "most played" list, but thats fine. The idea is to look at how much the top played game is above every other game on a users list, or if there are more than one game with a similar time-count, check the time between the release of their games. Now, exceptions exist, of course, but the norm shows exactly what Im talking about.
The behavioural pattern has been observed by many people, including Bash´n´Slash podcasters. I tried to apply that observation to peoples time spent on their videogames and it fit.
I'm saying you can't compare BC2 to MW2 just because of some steam stats.
I didnt compare BC2 to MW2 based on Steam stats. In fact, I didnt compare them at all. My only claim based on Steam was that it was the most played game on Steam, and that BFBC2 release shaved its play count by 20%. The whole argument regarding xfire and Steam has nothing to do with comparison between BC2 and MW2.
You can't compare statistics of what xfire users are playing to no statistics of what console gamers are playing.
Who said Im comparing "what" xfire users are playing?
Seriously man, youre saying Im confused, but youre just raising completely irrelevant questions trying to debunk arguments noone proposed.

MW2 is the most played Steam game right now, and has been for months. The fact that the hardcore PC community was pissed at MW2 amazingly, shockingly and surprisingly (Im being sincere) had little effect on its popularity. It sold more than MW1, its being played more and BC2 effects so far on its playerbase is at around 20%.

Ironic you said that..You are the only one asking irrelevant questions. I didn't even ask any questions.
Take it this way. A Battlefield fan is less likely to move between CS and BF2, when HALO fans were moving between HALO, GOW and COD with no problem. You can use xfire stats on individual PC gamers pages to confirm this. A PC gaming community is a splintered group of gamers, each in their own corner, a console gaming community is much less splintered.
Sh!t, man, I dont know, maybe because I socialize with console gamers, am a member of a community comprised by console gamers at a nearly 90% rate? The way "word of mouth" has an effect in both of these communities, and how it affects sales is completely different for both groups and has been for a very long time. Why do you think literally crappy titles can sell millions on one platform and only rack up a hundred thousand sales on another? As an overall group, console gamers are closely stacked than PC gamers due to its more casual state.
Did you just admit to going to daycare? I'm joking lol I had to.

Are you serious? Where do you see comparison between BC2 and MW2?
1. The impact that BC2 has on MW2 (which was my point, not which game of the two is played more) is factual for the following reason- in order to play MW2 online, you absolutely, positively have to use Steam. Before BC2 came out, MW2 Steam player numbers were between 110K and 120K, pretty consistently ever since its release. With the release of BC2, the unique players peak count dropped to between 80 and 90 on average. The fact that Steam is not recording by far every BC2 players time is not important. What is important is the obvious slump MW2 player count received, because everyone who plays MW2 online also uses Steam.
2. Once again, "what" the players play while their xfire is running, or their Steam, is irrelevant. What is important is how do their top played games differ from one another based on the time spent in those games. The difference between Steam and Xfire lies only in the difference of game library, because PC gamers who use Steam and Xfire do so often for different games. But despite the difference in games, the trend of sticking to a specific title for a longer time remains.

In the comment which you were replying to.

Does that make any sense?
No it doesn't make sense. You lose it when you end it with "the trend of sticking to a specific title for a longer time remains." Longer than what?
Ive already showed you that you misunderstood the message, why persist?

You assume that the word is in a comparitive context.
I would like to expand on the theory and observation, unfortunately if the future of our conversation will look like you nitpicking and me spoonfeeding you, then its a little discouraging.

Longer than a typical console player.
BF2 came out in 2005 and quite a few people are still playing it online. Try playing an Xbox game from 2005. If two people from this thread jump into BF2MC, it will bump the player numbers to 12. TOTAL. PC gamers tend to marry their games while console gamers tend to flit around like butterflies, pouncing on the next big thing until something else comes out with more commercials with distorted guitar and raspy announcers.
Many console games that rely on matchmaking can't even be played at all anymore. They count on the idea that multiple people from the same area will try to play the same game at the same time. That only works right when a game comes out or if it's popular. Once popularity starts to decline, it drops rapidly as matchmaking has a harder and harder time sticking people in a round. It's like they've built in a half-life to make people want to jump to the next game.

Thats a really good explanation, definitely makes sense.
