well, it was expected; Bad company wasn't a blockbuster sale on consoles the first time around; so maybe some consolers decided to try it on PC.

Even in its first incarnation, Bad company was 12 on 12 whereas the most CoD goes to is 8 vs 8; but BF has real team play, not a bunch of lone wolves running around.

This may seem counter intuitive, but this is not a good thing. This means that the game probably hasn't sold very well. There are far more console gamers than PC gamers, hence the reason most games cater to them. If the game doesn't sell well there might not be a BF3.

        I'm a poet and I don't know it.

The game has already gone gold on all platforms - it has sold well. BFBC2 is one of few games in a long time to interest a large portion of PC gamers - therefore loads of sales.

He says nothing of "combined" don't read what you want to read. Read what he writes.

                BOTH = COMBINED.

So, if he meant "PC currently has more people playing than either console," that's what he should have written. As it is written, it is suggested that the PC has more people playing that both of the consoles. Read that. BOTH. BOTH does not mean, "each one individually." It means BOTH.

You're an idiot. If I say "I'm a faster runner than both you and your brother." That does not mean that I can run faster than your combined top speeds. When someone says that something is better than both one thing and another, that means that it is better than the first thing AND better than the second thing. Not better than both combined.

Re: BFBC2 is a WIN for PC!

Either way, did they succeed in sales or failed? Because there really are more "unified" and active gamers on consoles in the sense that PC gamers are scattered across a wide variety of different genres and games.

In either case, if this is a success for the PC side, then you can also kiss LAN play goodbye as DICE has come up with a very good anti-piracy solution that provides both dedicated servers and makes it impossible to play online without a legit game. Part of that solution is to ****can LAN servers.

Slightly offtopic, but my friend and I speculated a few days back that the reason for no SDK isnt as much its complexity as its technological aspects which when revealed to the public, could benefit the competition.

I've never seen anyone comment on something being better than two other things combined and not emphasize the "combined" part let alone not even mention it.

Seriously, you think pc gamers are less unified than console gamers? You also think that pc gamers have a wider variety of different genres and games? What world are you living in and are you able to bring some of those drugs back with you?

It was an informal post. We dont know anything until we get some official numbers, so its all open to speculation.

I dont think, I know for a fact. There are a vastly more gaming PCs sold during the past 5 years, than there are current generation consoles, yet there are less PC gamers across all popular games (except MMOs) consistently playing. Stop being a fanboy and look at the numbers objectively.

The problem with your theory is the fact console game sales squish pc gaming sales. There are so many variables you aren't including that it makes your claim completely silly.

And a Fan boy of what? I haven't owned a console since n64.

                              LOL...

COD4 sales on consoles "squished" PC sales 8:1, even though the gaming PCs/laptops sold since the current gen consoles came out outnumber console sales 3:1 (and Im not counting in the non-gaming PC-s which can easily be used for gaming, like mine).

And a Fan boy of what? I haven't owned a console since n64.
A PC fanboy (which I told you to not to be, and you turned around and proved you were!) is just as detrimental to us gamers as a console fanboy is.

There are so many variables you aren't including that it makes your claim completely silly.
Actually, I am counting in all variables, youre the one who comes off narrowminded, thinking that the unity amongst console gamers is a silly myth. You completely misunderstood my post and youre taking it as an attack on a platform.

The whole point is that even though there are more PC gaming platforms sold, there are so many games on PC, and the gaming community is spread out across those games more than console community is spread across theirs. There are many reasons for this, one of which is hype-driven consumerist approach a lot of console gamers represent. If enough people start raving about a game, a much larger bunch will follow that hype and get the game, compared to the PC crowd, which is why in a multiplatform release, more console gamers will buy a hugely hyped title, compared to the PC crowd. There a massive ammount of variables to account for, but the trend is there.

Which is exactly the reason Im curious about this obvious difference from the norm BC2 represents. Either the game flopped on consoles for reasons we could speculate on, or those dozens of millions of gaming PC owners started buying the game en-masse, and I doubt BC2 PC sales have already exceeded 2M mark (and by a huge margin at that, which is unlikely).

Im a PC gamer through and through, but I like to look at these things from an observant and objective standpoint and not fall to a fanboy-like state where every time "PC" and "console" are used in a sentence, its an immediate attack on one of the two platforms.

                              So, simmer down.
