Well it IS a Battlefield game, DICE is still developing and EA is still publishing. So far there are no gamebreaking bugs, however there are graphical glitches that may not be related to the FOV increase, or lack of proper support from card drivers, like the stationary turrets having a black glass, or the fact you can't see anything on the russian ordinance on Atacama desert; we need a Bloom slider or a way to completely remove it. It was acceptable on snow maps, but it makes the better maps a bit unplayable if you are in a vehicle.

The HInd does handle differently from the apache, and can go toe to toe with it if you have a gunner that spots the enemy chopper; but really, you fly blind in Atacama desert. Andit's a filter thing, because the Apache cockpit doesn't have this problem, and shows the proper ammount of bloom.

You can disable bloom from the same settings.ini that you change fov.

I finally got a chance to play it, and its great when you can manage to find a server without lag and crashes. But getting there is incredibly frustrating, why wasn't these problems fixed in the Beta?
So far 2/3 of the games seems to end with a server crash.

Singleplayer doesnt really impress me. It performs much worse than MP for some reason, and all these cutscenes keeps breaking the flow of the game.

Pressing space skips the cutscenes well most of them if you want to skip all the rubbish and head to the blowing **** up faze.

Everyone gave the IGN reviewer **** about the 8.5 review score, but I can see what he's talking about where DICE tried to make the single player epic but didn't quite pull it off.

The ending felt rushed, and while it's open ended enough for continuation (DLC content expansion for SP?) it just didn't come off with leaving you feeling like you actually accomplished something epic. Few too many cutscenes as well, I agree.

wasn't it 8.9 not 8.5? anyways even those were generous scores. it had the unpolished feel for me. there are times when it was really good and sometimes it was really bad. i guess it's a good effort for their first SP fps effort, but frankly i'd rather have them spend all that time and energy on multiplayer next time around.

Does anyone have SS or video of the game with and without bloom? Sometimes I get annoyed at how bad the visibility is on some maps because of the bright glow everywhere, but I'm not sure if turning off bloom would help this. I just want a reference as I don't have the chance to get into the game ATM.

i turned off bloom in settings file but i'm not sure it's working because things are still bright. lol
maybe toggling it doesn't work, sorta like voice over localized.

I think it works, otherwise I would have noticed it while playing Port Valdez

Yes, but I dont actually want to skip the story, I just want it to feel like a part of the game instead of interrupting it.
That is something COD does very well. Even MW2 made you feel like you were right there, staring down the epic plotholes in person.

I have only played one and a half mission in BC2, but it has already made me feel that ingame cutscenes are obsolete. Scripting is the way to go

If crysis had this squad system, which was begged for in the beta it would have played pretty similar to BC2 multiplayer. Played conqest all night, some cool maps but it could use a few more, I can see Panama Canal becoming a 24/7 map so far.

                        First impression:

                        Call of Duty 7

                        Lack of teamwork.

                        Rambo ftw.

Overall player low k/d ratios as a result of that.

                        Good graphics

This, very much so. It's the biggest failure of the campaign, imho. They could have at least taken out the black screen flashe thingies between every cutscene.

Im loving it but the stability of the servers and the browsers is really FUBAR atm.

the game has its moments but this server browser madness is ruining the experience. they all show as having space but apparently they're all full.

how does the game look with everything turned up? i have to turn it down to medium and reduce resolution and it's rather ugly imo. baaaaah
