It improves the fps, if you drop from dx10 to dx9,,

I see no real point running the game in DX10 mode if its giving me crap fps.

just ordered my 5970 and water block the other night...so long GTX295!!!!

now for 3 monitors with very little bezel...........

Can you even buy an nvidia card that only supports 1 monitor? I've never met or turned someone on to dual monitors who were not satisfied. The power of desktop these days it's more than useful. So while you might not be stretching the screen across more than one monitor you can still get use out of them and once you choose to have more than one monitor you will not want to go back.

It's also not expensive to get that 3rd monitor to work. Any old card excluding AGP with the new motherboads will put the 3rd monitor to use.

..about the radius320..I can't say anything about their product but that is a horrible website. Yeah I know the saying don't judge a book by it's cover.

Most card supports two monitors, but the great thing about EyefFnity is that you get one gigantic monitor. Separate monitors are great for work and lots of other stuff, but I cant see it offering the same huge FOV as EyeFinity

The point is you are in no way tied to ATI and the 2nd and 3rd monitor never have to become useless. Also if this eyefinity takes off nvidia will just follow. People have actually been doing this for years with extra hardware. It was never really popular and might have lost support in windows 7 recently.

I don't understand what you mean by.
*The cost of each upgrade will be doubled, since you need twice the GFX power of you normal setup (according to tests on the net)

As of right now eyefinity only works with 1 card. So I don't understand what you mean by "each upgrade" or "twice the GFX power".

They will become useless for UltraWideScreen gaming, at least until Nvida catches up.

I think I can best explain the double cost by giving an example:
Right now my target display is 1680x1050. When I feel it is getting too slow, I can upgrade it to a high-end GFX card for around $250 to $300.
So that is my current upgrade price.
However, if I want to bring an EyeFinity system up to the same standard, I will need to purchase twice the GFX power that I need for a single-monitor system. So the price of all my future GFX upgrades has doubled.

nVidia has gone the 3D route for now so cant know when they will try and copy "Eyefinity" but even then ATi has an advantage of being ahead, Eyefinity 6 is ready to be released.

Yes, Ive been using multimonitors for years but there wasnt many games that supported it so you would end up having 1 screen for the game and one for TS or something, atleast now you can fully utilize your 3 monitors as you intended, the Matrox triplehead2go was another option but it costs alot even now its still £250 but its resolution was always limited to 1280*1024 per screen regardless of the size of the monitor.

I got a high end rig, not the extreme end like some people here. <Looks around>

AMD Phenom ii x4 965 stock
XFX 5850 1GB DDR5
790XTA-UD4 mobo
Noctua C12P SE14 cooling fan

Runs BFBC2 maxed out with average 90 fps and 70 in fire fights.
