Again ... its a beta, with one game mode, and one map.

How anyone can make any comments on the maps being to small is an idiot. As you haven't seen or played the maps, so please, for the love of god, STFU when talking about stuff you have no idea about.

Prone is NOT needed.

The game works perfectly well without prone, and prone really does slow down gameplay, if you want bf2, go play bf2.

I doubt the beta (demo) will actually differ from 1.0 very much.

Its not the size of the beta map I have a problem with, its the design.

It does seem to work on without prone, but camping is still prevalent...

Camping is prevalent because its a strictly attack/defense map.

Thats what rush mode is.

You either advance, or lose.

Attacking teams don't understand that killing defenders does nothing, and hence forth sniping defenders does nothing. They have unlimited tickets and will just come back.

But as with any game where points are involved, some people don't care about winning, they just want the points, hence camping is born.

Yes, I have seen the maps in the game manual, I posted the manual up as news. Have you seen the maximum player count on a server for PC?

As I've said before, this game doesn't seem to be for you and thats fine.

maps are as wide as a golfcourse fairway!all linear.period!

If this game had much bigger maps it would be great!flanking ,4x4 tank battles ,2x2 helo battles(is there even 1x1 helo battles?)

I do have issues the gameplay is so fast,more run and gun that tactics and long fire fights

Reason for small maps?consoles cant handle the graphical demand?

Conquest maps are the same "overall" size(check your Downloadable game manual)
I would rather less destruction with bigger maps

1942 and BF2 has set some high bars IMO,I know this is BC2 and I didnt expect epic but i want Battlefield to evolve to be "Epic" again in BF3

You have played one map (two if you played the ps3 beta). How do you deterimine that all maps are linear? How is the gameplay too fast? did you wan't it to be slow? I played bf2 for years and It doesn't feel much different in the speed catagory. I think everyone is expecting a bf2 clone and things have evolved.

It's obvious you were expecting "BF2: frostbite version".

You have neglected, time and again, to realize that this is not a sequel, remake or in any way related to BF2 save for the label tag - Battlefield.

YOU have set the bar too high for this game; because bad company 2 is primarly and first, a single player game; with a multiplayer mode.

It's YOU and everybody that speak in your terms about how this game is a "failure as a BF game" that keep denying that this is a multiplatform game that happened to be released on PC since the first one wasn't.
It's not "dumbed down" it's not "incomplete" it is designed precisely as the developer team wanted; it is what it is.

It's rather sad that people like you keep the entertainment from evolving. I think it's safe to assume you'd be quite happy to get BF3 as BF2 remade with a new graphcial engine; without any development attached to it.

We don't want you or people who think like you or have a similar opinion of the game to "shut up"; we'd like you to at least acknowledge the game is not to your liking and leave it at that, without dissing the company, or the players that like it.
What gets tiresome is the neverending rant about how this game is not "epic" or "grandiose" like BF2 was; and you know what? BF2 is far from being a perfect game; we all played it, most of us liked it, we had great fun with it; but some of us can see all the shortcomings that game had.

Think a bit; do you really just want a repackaged BF2? that's all you want? No evolution whatsoever? no change? I can commend DICE on daring to change the formula a bit, keeping on with times, TRY new things; analize and then decide; you refuse to accept whatever changes are good.

And as I said; this is not a flame, or me trying to change your liking the game or not; I'm just baffled you refuse to just state why you don't like the game without replying negative feedback.

Just a short shootdown of your analysis: The game has a max cap of 32 players, 8 more than the console versions; maps are consistent in size with 32 player versions of past maps; they are at least 5 to 8 times bigger than the competition multiplayer maps; so no, your arguments against the game are flawed, it's not trying to be something it's not; it's trying to be its own brand and flavor of Battlefield.
It's not to your tastes obviously, so don't buy it, don't play it.

Everyone forgets BF2: Modern Combat. I don't blame you, that game was freaking horrible. Worse than Heroes, even. But it did have a single player campaign with a story mode.

I tried it first on the PS2 when it came out. To be fair, I hated aiming with sticks so I was already biased against it somewhat. I never really got into it, so I sold it.

I recently bought an Xbox 360, so I decided to get BF2MC for it for ~$5 used. I hate it. It's so slow and ugly.

Any time someone wants to complain about a modern game, I want to make them play MC and see how much worse it could be. It's not some archaic N64 game. It's an Xbox 360 game. It just looks and handles like a bad N64 game. :shudder shudder:
