its a console game, we all know that, and its pretty obvious that Bad Company was never designed to be like the other battlefields we generally play

I'll pour scorn on Dice/EA like no tommorow if they turn Battlefield 3 into something else, but until then I'll be fine with what I get in the mean time
I think it's fair to say that we should be lucky to have BC2 on the PC but we shouldn't be suprised that it's a port and therefore "doesn't feel exactly like the ol' BF days".

I also think it's fair to expect a lot more from a PC exclusive title.

At first it seemed ok to me but i have some issues with the game now

-too much gimic stuff eg.UAV,sonar ect ect
This to me seems like natural progression. I would have expected something like this on a PC version of Battlefield as well.
-rego is real bad(worse than BF2) taking whole clips to down someone
Some people have complained about this. Others are saying that it isn't an issue. Either way it CAN be fixed. Many BF releases have been buggy on release. BF2 anyone?
-no prone (well i knew it was a issue for me to start)
I don't like the fact that its not in and think its a backward step. Given the choice tho I'd rather play BF with no prone than any other FPS.
-Port?some are noticing now it was just made for the consoles
You need to explain this more. Saying its a port is a bit vague in what its problems are.
-not many maps(8) and game modes no one wants
BF has gradually been released with less and less maps each time so 8 maps doesn't suprise me and it shouldn't you either. BF3 will probably have 4 :p Also there will be free DLC don't forget and this might include an extra map or 2.
      -hardcore mode?lol what a joke
I can't comment as I haven't tried it but if you don't like it then don't play it. There's still the "normal" BF mode to play.
-ironsights bad and scope and red dots even worse?
I haven't had a problem with any of the scopes to be honest. Ironsights are rubbish anyway.
      -maps seem small to me
Maybe your used to playing 64 player maps I don't know but of course they are smaller as they are designed for 32 or less players. Port valdez is a massive map anyway. Maybe you should wait for conquest mode as rush mode is obviously a totally different style of play.
-game feels like its MW2 and made by activision
I've never played MW2 and don't intend to. I didn't like COD4 and thats good enough for me.
-lastly a HUGE connection issue(drop outs or EA accounts)that i am currently fighting EA with atm
Another problem that can be fixed. Try to remember you are playing a BETA and not a demo. They will be stress testing an other such stuff so you won't get performance the same as when you have the final game.

I dont see this as being a finished product by the shipping date
many are not happy not just me(just go to EAuk forums)

this is not a flame post!many like the game and i respect that but currently im leaning towards,no thanks Dice i will pass

again not a rant or rave but my honest opinion:salute:

I think the only thing going for it atm is im sick and bored to hell with bf2:dead:
Comments in blue above. All in all it seems like your making a fuss about a lot of stuff that should be fixed or was to be expected. It may not be the BF you remember from your PC. Games have to adapt, for better or worse, and I expect that BF3 will incorporate some of the stuff from BC and BC2 so prepare yourself otherwise you'll be dissapointed again.

Overall I think this game does offer the BF experience. OK its not quite the same as the PC but most of its there and I'm sure you will all have some great games just like you did on previous BF's.

My DELL plays it just fine.

On the topic of buying it : I bought it simply because I know it's good, having played BC1 and 1943 I enjoyed them both but the fact they were on my 360 made it a little less appealing.

This is why there is no prone.

I know for certaon; if this was Unreal, Quake, or CoD; I'd have noproblem with this "techniques".

I just find them absurd in a semi realistic FPS like Battlefield, and this is why I left BF2; I know how to play like this, i just don't find it enjoyable.

the fact is it isn't something one or two people do; you HAVE to play like this to get anywhere in BF2. And lo and behold; what map is it? Oh yes, spam at Karkand. The map that made all other maps un playable since they get no rotation; why are people complaining about few maps when they'll only play one? The one that plays the most like Karkand (Camp Spamaltar I'm looking at you even tough you are very fun when played properly)
In those videos there are in average 2 kills on each video that aren't made from insta prone; and ONE where the guy goes insta prone when his opponent is facing away from him.

I didn't see ANY tank or apc in that video, so tell me please; what do they need prone for? YES, abusing the hit reg glitches, not hiding or using "tactics".

That's what makes me sad about people. they don't want a better game, they want a reskin of Battleglitch 2: Karkand 24/7

I don't believe that the reason they didn't add prone is because of the aim benefit from "instaprone". There are plenty of games that have prone in where the accuracy of someones gun when the go prone is perfect. Do you really think its impossible for DICE to program the game with prone in without giving perfect accuracy?

From what I've read from all the Dev's it sound like the guy in charge of the game basically doesn't like prone for whatever reason and its his decision not to have prone in. There have been problems with prone in the past and rather than deal with these problems the easiest solution for them is just to take it out regardless of whether it makes the game better or worse hence the reason we've been given vague and different reasons to why it isn't in the game.

While I agree that prone spamming is lame - I think there are better ways to deal with it than just removing it entirely. It just seems like lack of innovation to solve a problem.

Such as actually displaying your character laying down. Making your camera simulate actually laying down ETC so if you do prone in the midst of battle you'll find yourself incredibly confused.

I've often wondered why they don't just make it realistic. It takes a second to go from standing to prone. In that time, you can't shoot. And once you can shoot, you're not fully "prone-accurate" for a few seconds.

BF2142 system for prone was nice

I think I should edit my orginal post, it should read "This is why no one is taking you guys seriously; show me wich one of those dives was a dive for cover against armor".

I'm ok with losing prone if it keeps retarded dolphin-divers away.

I also like how it takes more than one or two shots to kill somebody, as it makes it less about who has the twitch-reflexes and more about who can actually control their aim and keep landing the hits. Then again, I'm just biased because I have the reflexes of a 70-year old paraplegic.

Good point, since we all know people will find some way to glitch their way into an advantage, why gimp the game by limiting functionality?
