Will BFBC2 replace BF2?

Do you think once BFBC2 comes out that there will be a decrease in players for BF2? Or do you think it won't have any effect on BF2 player base at all?

I think it will have a big effect on BF2 and 2142. Atleast temporarily. We havnt played conquest, but I bet that game mode will be filled with Bf2 people.

The gold rush game mode was a major innovation in online FPS in recent times.

I can see many leaving BF2/142, but its hard to say. BF2 has a ton of mods and die hard fans. You could make an exact replica of BF2 in BC2 format, with mod tools, and people will call it garbage.

I think many will wait for BF3.

i think i'll still play 2142 but will play BC2 more. but when 2142 patch and new maps come out, it may take me away from BC2. BF2 i've stopped long time ago and i don't see myself going back.

I will play both. But BF2 is still the best game ever for me :) BC2 is different, faster paced shooter.More focused on infantry and I just love jets@choppers.
I hope Conquest is better than rush, but from what I've seem the maps are very small compared to bf2 maps. Two uncaps and three flags.

BC2 just feels too much like COD4 to me, which isn't to imply anything.. other than I tend to prefer the larger maps and slower pace of BF2.

I think it will take away players from both BF2 and 2412, as I (and I'm sure EA) would expect it to do so.

I also think that BF3 will take those players back once it releases.

For me BC2 (beta) doesnt replace it, it wasnt bad but just doesnt have that 'epicness' that bf2 has.

Also i really hate the fact that there is no mod support at all.
Mods reinvigorated bf2 for me tbh.

BF2 is old I have to let it go sometime, even tho no game can live up to it's potential.

I concur, BC2 is good, it just doesn't have the BF2 wow factor about it when it first came out.

I'm really enjoying BC2 so far, but it doesn't quite have the same feel as BF2142 did and still does. We'll have to see when the full game comes out (I'm definitely planning on buying it, having played the beta), of course.

A lot of people have already left BF2/2142 as the games are getting old. Die hard fans will stay die hard fans, but the community for the games isn't what it once was just a few years ago.

I concur, BC2 is good, it just doesn't have the BF2 wow factor about it when it first came out.

I don't think any game will have that BF2 wow factor.

I just dont see it. I thought 1942 was good. I didnt love it. When I went to Vietnam I was wowed. Then BF2 was good, but I didnt love it. Then I was wowed in 2142. With the effects and sounds of bc2, I am wowed again.

Why is bf2 wow? Was it the first modern game out? I think it was. Was that the "wow" factor?
