except mortar binoculars aren't in the weapon cycle list from what i remember.

recon's motion sensor - the first one goes inactive as soon as you throw the second one i think.

motion sensor only 1 active at a time?
can you heal/resupply by just holding the box and not putting it on the ground?
You can't zoom in when it's not, and scrolling through weapons with mouse wheel will show it recharging.

When UAV is ready to call another strike in? The orange box disappears. When it is respawned, there is no way other than walking up to the UAV computer.

You can only have one motion mine out at a time.

No you cannot, you must set boxes on the ground to heal or re-supply yourself, your allies, or your enemies.

automatically unlocked, press F to throw them (you only get one, until you resupply)

Those lots of zeros is DICEs way of preventing those items from being unlocked in the game. The points to unlock them are actually a lot less.

Think of it this way; people raged when 2142 dared to award only one point for each kill; and give more for suporting actions.

If a kill was still 1 point, or two. what value should the support actions have? .1 for each heal? .2 if it was squad heal? .30 for planting a tracer; .5 for a headshot, .1 each repair.

You'd end up with maybe 32.125 points Instead of 3212; it's easier to calculate; and you avoid those odd stats like in 2142. Plus it looks awesome OMG 5000 points for a gold star!

Exactly. To keep the unlocks restricted in the beta - they just multiplied the requirements by 1000 or so. Pull off the leading 1 and 0's and the rest is the real score.

                    Field,

Most people need to remember that ths for is beta and secondly this is the battlefield series, but it is supposed to bring a entirely new feel to the gay. You can actually have a glimps of your health and if those who have played it can't tell I wont spill the beans. As for your team memebers they can see your health so hopefully they are healing you when you need it.

The feel of the game is 100% different and if you go in expecting this is 2142 it is far from it. A slight feel of BF2 x10. I believe most people want this game to be exactly like bf2 and 2142, but then it would not be the latest and greatest if it was to follow that. If you haven't played it you are missing out and this is stil in beta.

The downside you hear from alot of people are basically the changes that people are not ready for. The lack of hitting the 'q' button and choosing a spot item or a command. Then again this is Bad Company, it's a different game.

Performance wise many people think a XP machine on a Low end dual core and a minimal video card will play smoothly. There are some tweaks that those can try which can give them 20-40 FPS, but it doesnt work consitently for everyone. So overall everyone has had a different expereince and for most that get to play it smoothly.. it is one heck of a game.

Statements like this are irritating. Many of us are using fairly decent PCs and are still getting crap performance. I'm not using some 9500GT with a Pentium D. I shouldn't have to use too many crazy tweaks to get it to run on low settings. Turning of HBAO, I get. Drivers don't really support it. But having EVERYTHING set to low and still dropping to 20fps from time to time, while getting 30-40 the rest of the time? There is obviously something wrong somewhere.

The "It's a beta" thing doesn't count for much a month from release.

Other than server lag (at 17ms pings) and performance issues, I think it's great. The actual gameplay is good. There are just niggling issues like inverted UAV controls vs flight controls and things like that. Or settings not sticking.

the game was developed for consoles so it is not made to utilize video cards that much... more CPU dependent like GTA4

Yeah, I get that, too. Guess I figured a Core 2 Quad at 2.8-3 GHz would be enough. Works just fine in GTA 4 and pretty much every other game... ever.

Again, a lot of us are having this problem with somewhat decent PCs. We aren't using some HP crap from Best Buy.

On my dual core e5200 w/ a GTS 250 on vista I am running 40-50 FPS. Game plays fine no server lag or FPS and this one is wireless.

It plays just as well as my monster rig which I sit at 88-100 FPS

And it being beta does count, this thing is dummied down compared to what it will be. Every persons rig will play differernt, heck if I go pu t it on my kids rig with a 1900 ATI card I am sure it will not be as enjoyeable.

i heard this beta is limited to medium textures anyways so raising it will not affect anything.

also, i'm not sure if AA is working because the game is jagged as hell, esp. the trees.
