I have to confess, after playing Mass Effect 1 and i must stress that fact that i am not a RGP fan (i ma a FPS, RTS and TPS person with the occasional milsims) After completing the game out of all the games on my desktop i cannot play any of them seriously i tried playing MW2 online i got out within one session just one round lol. I cant bloody wait and plus in Europe we will get the game on the 29th rather than 26th in the US lol seriously i cant play nothing except for Eastern Front CoH :p
It's like... Gears of War with moral choices. They removed Inventory, removed a CRAPLOAD of the RPG elements and just seems like the entire thing has been dumbed down to the point I'm willing to say that outside of the visuals, the original is better.
I found that I truly enjoyed only a couple of aspects of the game, those being the final stage, the ship upgrades (which ultimately proved to be useful for the pre-final cinematics only), the puzzles (really well done) and the sidequests, which felt really well thought out this time.

Haha, my initial thought was that it was GoW with abilities.

Yeah, for a game which got famous because of near-perfect RPG/Action mix, this was a colossal downgrade.

Having talked about ME1 and ME2 with a number of people, it was primarily done so because most people didnt fully utilize their squadmates and played the first game through as if it was an action title. A couple of ME2 videos show that basically the squadmates are being dragged along as a distraction.
And the combat... ahh... the improvement of having a key for cover was underwhelming when I discovered the severe lack of options for squadmate control, no crouch, limited use of the abilities for already too few in the list and no customization of gear. The combat aspect as a whole was a massive downgrade. 99% of the firefights I won was from being in the 3rd person cover mode, with no change in position. I replayed a bit of ME1 after I finished ME2, and cover was just as important as motion in ME1 because of different enemy types (both who rush, flank and turtle). No biotic enemies in ME2, the diversity is nonexistent compared to ME1. There are enough positive aspects to the game to make it a GOTY 2010, and its a really good game as a whole. But ME1 was much, much better, except for Mako, Mako sucked.
I must say ME2 is amazing. the gfx quality on this game is brilliant. I really like the recruiting missions reminds me of a movie lol but i cant remember the name!
