There's tons of raw, riveting military action in Modern Warfare 2, but it's very much about how the game has changed: limiting civilian casualties and figuring out whom to fight and why are just as important as staying alive

Are they rewarding the game for its moral stance? Like gunning down civilians just to keep your cover, and of course torture:

IW and Activision had the award in the bag from mid summer since no other big games were being released aside from Assassins Creed 2, L4D2 and... Fallout 3 or something.

To IW, winning this award would have been like winning the olympic gold for Nose Picking, and all other competitors were Earthworms.
