How do i make a new soldier?

Hi, I think this will be a very stupid or easily answered question.
I've only ever played Battlefield, so I'm not used to Steam.
How would i be able to make a new soldier (on pc), with a new k/d, and no rank ect.
Or can i reset my soldier somehow?

I don't know where to start. In battlefield you just made a new soldier in game.

Do i have to create a whole new steam account? And if so, wouldn't that mean that it wouldn't be related to my CD key?

I believe that your soldier is linked to your steam account, in turn un-abling (new word) you to create a new one. However with the rank hacks I would think there is a way of resetting your data.
If not maybe re-install steam?

A new steam account would be free from both your stats and your game.
The stats are located in c:\program files (x86)\steam\SteamApps\common\call of duty modern warfare 2\players, you could try renaming the folder and see what happens. But do it at your own risk.

Why would you do it anyway? It may inflate your K/D to get rid of you bad history, but you lose any bragging rights when comparing to "honest" players.
The whole idea seems a bit silly to me.

No, I don't really care about k/d.
But i do like multiple accounts, like in battlefield.
Just wondering if you could do similar things, by making new soliders

I wouldn't actually reset my soldier, though it wouldn't make much difference since I've only played a few rounds.

Why do you need multiple accounts?
If identity is an issue just change your name and if you want to, change your play style under that name.

No, they have locked the game down pretty tight this time.
Only one profile, and the game is tied to Steam so you cant easily resell it.

Yea i really dont understand the one profile idea, i rather liked being able to switch from my HC/ Clan profile to my casual TDM profile.

i don't think there's a clear answer what is saved online and what is saved locally on your HD. did anyone test it out by starting over with a clean profile folder?

If i felt like playing in with my clan i could use one profile with a certain setup and if i only had a short time to play some quick casual games i could use my other profile with again different setups :)
