I like prerendered cinematics a hell of a lot more for a lot of reasons, I dont understand why people dislike them.
Some don't like them because it doesn't show actual in-game graphics. Only a few can do in-game intros and trailers and still look good.

only if they don't try to pass it off as in-game graphics. a lot of game companies are sneaky and try to pass of pre-rendered cinematics as actual gameplay.

Yeah, but were not talking about trailers. If introductory cinematic, or one depicting an important dialogue and whatnot, is prerendered, then it shouldnt matter the least. At least from a technical standpoint. Ive heard a lot of people saying that CGI videos break the immersion for them.

lol, like Crytek with the original Crysis intro. It was pre-rendered and in first-person, so it was very easy to be tricked.

Yeah I wish I could shoot a tier in a jeep, and send it flying, but when I did that in game the jeep continued to drive towards me and the Koreans ran me over.

"Snoken" was the name of the whole production group that did the Mine videos and the other ones. Noken is the head honcho, and he does indeed work for DICE now. He has done some of the BFBC2 trailers. Good stuff.

Here's my favorite variant of the BF2 intro:

I love the bit with the TV rocket in the BF2 intro.

                            "I'm locked on him!"
                            "Tii-hibwa!"

                            BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

Just gives me a nice warm feeling of nailing someone right in the face.

Snoken works for DiCE now. He is pure genius at editing and scripting.
