red dot vs holographic sights

is one better than the other? i know you unlock holographic later, but does it have any advantages over red dot? some say they actually prefer the red dot. how about you?

It could be that some people with lower graphic settings are not seeing the holographic sight well and just see it as a red dot also.

I like the HS because you have a red dot and then in the very center is a second red dot to pinpoint your shot.

Iron sights > all - especially with the EMP now.

But I'd have to say the red dot, it seems more precise than the holographic.

But you don't see too many EMPs. I've done one through care packages and only seen one other.

Iron sights are better depending on the weapon you choose though.

If I had to choose though, HS would win because of what Crunch said.

I used the Holosight just because it is a higher ranking unlock, but in reality I don't notice much of a difference.

If you look at the screenshots it would appear that the holographic sight has a slightly smaller center dot, so it is better for hitting small targets.
On the other hand, it also has a much more massive frame than the red dot, so it obstructs more of your view.

I just play with default settings, so I havent really thought much about it.

yeah depth of field is annoying as hell as it blurs out everything outside of your aim. i turned mine off quick like i did with COD4.

but good point about holographic being bigger/thicker obstructing view more than red dot. btw, what map is that vreki?

Same screenshot without depth of field. I can see the difference, but doubt that I will notice it while playing.

Red dot, the holographic's outer circle is useless to me and just blocks my view.

Judging by the images, the holographic sight looks better. The center dot's smaller which would make it more accurate.
