    Yes I'm on a stock heatsink-fan. Also sorry but what is a 3.0 BSEL mod?

        BSEL mod: Q6600 and Celeron 420D

        2 different types of BSEL mod. on the left is the Q6600 quad-core chip weighing in at $199 (microcenter price). on the right, a celeron 420d (conroe style single core) weighing in at a mere $42. both had their FSB (front side bus) raised. the q6600 went from 266mhz to 333mhz; and the celeron went from 200mhz to 266mhz. on the q6600, you simply tape over one single pad. that's it. very very simple. on the celeron, you have to use conductive paint as found at auto parts stores (windshield rear defogger repair kits). this mod is a bit harder than the tape-over pad mod. both give very stable overclocks using stock cooling (set to lowest speed, btw) and stock voltages. both were overclocked on non-overclock motherboards (both used intel boards).         btw, your Q6600 shouldn't be idling at 50C i think. you should look into it.

            yeah my duo 6750 will be good for another year and than can handle 3.0- 3.2 no worries on std heat sink.regulary blow the dust out with a air compressor.

            buying upgrade cpu's all the time can be a waste of moula:dead:

            mine may see 35c when its cleaned out at 3.2 ,but when its full of dust yeah 50c

            also clean your resorces and memory hogs

                Got my intel 8500 dual core on a stock cooler running 3.7ghz, idles at 35degrees

                    Aren't most of you going to just turn off shadows and the other ancillary graphics setting anyway? I will be just like in BF2. It's about the gameplay not the pretty images.

                            Then what's the point of getting any new games? It's not like gameplay is advancing at all, LoL.

                                erm ... destruction ...... for one

                                edit: but yea when the graphics advance so does the gameplay like for instance going from 2D to 3D.

                                            No, it's pretty sure they don't. Summer is a more realistic esimate for nvidia's DX11 cards.
