it'll be 1680x1050, i probably won't be able to run it with high settings eh? its okay as long as it doesn't look horrible on medium.

It supposed to revert even to DX9 for some XP users.

Yeah it will work on XP, but who the hell would want to use such antiquated OS on dx10 compatible hardware. Vista and 7 are much better.

Vista and 7 are also a lot quicker for gaming on with like for like hardware.

            Sold, will buy.

Better bundle with BF1943 so that I don't have to pay twice. Save my trouble.

            Good job DICE.

Now I just have to find funding for DX11 card and faster CPU, after 1+TB hard drive.

Does anyone have any information on GeForce 300 series for a release date I'm looking on the wiki page and it says "Rumoured Q1 2010". So I'm hoping it's before BC2 comes out and I'm hoping that those cards will work with my 650watt PSU, Quad-Core Q6600, and EVGA NFORCE 680I SLI 775mb mobo.

I don't wanna have to upgrade anything other then my video card (which is a 8800GTS(640MB)). My quad-core or any quad-core is pretty future proof. And I'm assuming the GT300 series still uses the PCI express 16x (i think it's called?) So i can just simply pop my 8800GTS out and throw the GT300 in without having to upgrade the mobo.

650 watt psu is enough. And the release date ? Well, there are many rumours going around. Card will be previewed this year, but you won't be able to buy it this year. It should be availible before BC2 is out.

No official release, but like it says, expected Q1 2010

Incorrect. The Q6600 has such a low stock frequency, it will most likely bottleneck a new DX11 card. I used to have one and comparing purely video card scores on 3dMark, a 3.8ghz Q6600 came out a lot, lot higher.

If there was no bottleneck, the video card score would have come out the same whether or not the CPU was overclocked.

Also, there are some quads out there with next to know onboard memory/cache which will suffer.

This is why a high frequency dual core will often outperform a lower freq quad.

Thats true, I had Q6600 before and on stock frequency it was huge bottleneck (I had 2x 8800 GTS512 in Sli). Overclock it if you have good cooling. If not, look for mainstream dx 11 card (Radeon HD5770, well and thats pretty much the only option because mainstream cards from nVidia won't be here before summer 2010).

Well I think I payed like 800$ for my Q6600 it was somewhere around when it released. I learned my lesson big time. I don't wanna have to pay over not even 300$ for a CPU again. What kind of CPU you think I should get to match a G300 card then? Or do you think I should just overclock my quad up to 3Ghz or will that cause to much hassle with heat problems and all. Thanks

Yea, never buy a top of the range CPU new, they lose value so quickly.

I would buy a cooler, like a Xiggy or Thermalrite and go for a little OC session. 3.4ghz would be sweet and fairly easy to hit.

If you wanna stick with NVIDIA you will have to wait a little bit more since first releases of NVIDIA GPUs always had issues with power consumption, overheating, lack of GPUs on the market and so on. On the other hand there is ATI with its 58xx and 57xx lineup and their problems in form of buggy drivers and shortages at the moment. By the time BF:BC2 will be released ATI will iron out most bugs while NVIDIA will most probably start promoting new lineup. At that time ATI 58xx and 57xx will be "mature" products and with GPUs intended even for budget users (56xx and 55xx).

you can easily overclock the q6600 to 3.0 and more. even if you don't mobo overclock, you can do a simple BSEL mod to get it to 3.0 easily.

Yea I'm looking at my CPU temps it's saying at idle it's 50C which is kinda high so I'm looking into xigmatek options before i do any overclocking like Alex suggested

are you on stock heatsink-fan? if so, it can likely handle a 3.0 BSEL mod without issues, unless you have bad cooling inside your PC.
