Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
Hardcore is an abomination and destroyes the absolutely awesome balance between perks and weapons in the game. Hardcore also requires less skill and you can pretty much rape anything with the Scorp+silencer+Juggernaut+Deep Impact combination. On any map. At any time.
If you are unable to keep your sights on a target to score 3 successful hits, then this is good. It means that youre progressing through the learning curve.

Only because hardcore in CoD4 was poorly implemented and only consisted of reduced health and no HUD.
Hardcore has the potential to be okay in BC2 if it's properly implemented, otherwise it'd be better just to leave it out of the game.

Which is why its an abomination, because thats precisely what it does. What youre talking is something completely different and usually requires a dedicated mod team, because a true "realism" modification requires the kind of attention to details, and an angle or perspective which developers like DICE and IW either dont have the time and resources for, or just dont know how.

Hardcore wouldnt even work in vBF2. What makes you think it would work in BC2?
For a Battlefield game, bringing in realism requires tweaking all around. "Hardcore" is just simple tweaks to damage and HP.
Battlefield 2: 6-9 body shots with the M16 or 4-6 shots with the AK-101. Also one good 3 shot burst to the head with the M16 or 2 or 3 shots in the head with the AK-101, AK-47 I usually took out 3-4 people with one magazine on average. I liked the AK-47 when I played competitively, best weapon for I/O. Altho you don't see many Chinese I/O maps on pub servers.
The weapon balance in BF2 is fine, so long as the hits reg. Four/five AK bullets to take down an armoured guy (or one headshot) isn't a problem at all and won't take an entire mag, so long as they register instead of producing dust. The people who think it needs to take fewer shots to kill someone are likely among those who get a lot of dust, and making the bullets do more damage won't solve that problem (just imagine dying even quicker than you already do). Fix the reg, and any talk of a 'hardcore' mode being necessary will go away.
Now, about this 1.6 second spawn invincibility, does the newly spawned soldier have to wait 1.6 seconds before he can shoot, or is he able to shoot with impunity for 1.6 seconds? Meaning, does shooting immediately cancel out the invincibility? As good as an idea as this sounds for preventing spawnrape/spawn point camping, I'd hate to be enroute to an enemy base and see a soldier spawn in in front of me and paste me before I can damage him. True, it probably wouldn't happen very often, but how annoying it would be when it does. Same goes for people who spawn on squad leaders (or is that out...is this the game you can spawn on any squad members, not just the SL?). Imagine an SL taking your base and trying to stop him, only to have new soldiers show up who are immune to fire for a second and a half.
