Is there any info on how weapons are tied to classes?

Thanks for taking a stab at it. I'd like to be excited about this game, but anything less than 32v32 is a step backwards for this franchise. I will just have to keep my fingers crossed that some development studios (unlike IW) still understand the desires of PC gamers.

More does not mean better. I never liked playing 64 player maps in Bf2. I prefered 20-32 players. :)

yer the most I preferred was 40 man servers tbh, don't even mind 32 man, then again depends on how the game is balanced and the maps designed

            Different strokes for different folks.

I never said bigger was better, but it it what I prefer. Nothing sucks the fun out faster than wandering a map looking and hoping to find a single enemy to kill. More players on each side also helps balance out any individual who is extremely skilled. You might be able to solo 5 or 6 people (or even more, that's not the point), but if you have to fight against 32 then you need to squad up to be effective. These are the reason I like big servers.

I hope that people would agree that more choices is better than fewer choices. A larger player count allows for more choices (from small servers all the way up to big ones) and this makes it a good addition for a reason besides my personal affinity for large servers.

But then again you have to make sure the maps are balanced for all player counts. I'm sure the maps will be perfect for 12vs12 players, or at least I hope so.

True, but it wasn't a problem to balance maps for 16, 32 and 64 players in BF2 or 2142. I can't see any reason why this game would be an exception to that rule.

                  More = more options.
More options = more people satisfied.
                  More people satisfied = better.

                  It's not rocket science.

What about the technical problems? balancing problems?

It's not that I say 64 players is bad. I just don't think it can be done in a good way.

Have balancing problems ever been an issue before? Just look at CoD4. There are lots of 25vs25 servers on those tiny maps and people just love playing on them.

Technical problems can be worked out ourselves. If they let us adjust the limit ourselves like in CoD4, we'll find the ideal spot.

                      You said:

Um.... ok??? BF2 had a 64 player limit, yet you still were able to play with only 20 - 32 people, right? So what's the problem with making the limit 64 if you didn't even like playing on those bigger servers? How does the limit affect you if you don't even play on them?

Seriously, what kind of logic is that?

yup, he's right. start at 64, then let people decide whether they want to play on 64 man servers or 32, 48, etc. there's no point in arguing this logic.

Why are you so hostile? o_O

I already said I have no problem with 64 players, I just doubt it will happen because of dificulties, ok?

I'm not hostile, I just annoys me when people say things like "More does not mean better. I never liked playing 64 player maps in Bf2. I prefered 20-32 players." without using any common sense.

It's fine if you prefer playing with 20-32 people, but you need to remember that you can still do that even if the limit was 50vs50, 100vs100, etc. and also recognize that a lot of people like playing with more people.

If the limit is high, that makes more options available. And anyone who is against more options is a facist. amirite?

I assume the sheer amount of destructibility has a severe impact on player count, and I would assume this is DICE's reasoning, I would also assume that if 64 was a viable option they would do so.

They could just come out and say that. Hopefully they'll provide us with more details when they officially announce the numbers for the PC version.
