Are they making a new PlanetSide??? Why wasnt I informed?!?!?!?!?

Anyway, I like futuristic settings, but I think BF2142 scared a lot of devlopers away from that.

Vietnam sounds good, AFAIK there was a lot of ambushes and overrun outposts, which should make a good basis for hectic CQB.
E.g. the attack on the american embassy during the Tet offensive

futuristic setting would own hard if done right. I`m not talking about Star Wars/Star Trek kinda future with lighsabers and other ghey stuff like that. More like Killzone 2+ Mass Effect.
This... Killzone 2 and Mass Effect was really cool.

Also - don't get your panties in a bunch - something similar to the Halo universe would be interesting as well.

IMHO, keep it Modern or historical at least. I don't like aliens.... Dey'we scawy!!!!!!
And Halo just didn't do much for me...
But I also reckon because of 2142, and the uber fail that it was (no offense to those who <3 it) kinda scared people away from futuristic settings, except for Halo of course.
But there was some news post or something that said Treyarch could be going for Vientam. And I'm betting on that. Would be sweet!

              http://www.planetside-universe.com/n...tside-2342.htm

i heard they sent all the original planetside players a survey of what they wanted to see for the sequel.

i think this was the survey: http://www.questionpro.com/akira/TakeSurvey?id=1368989

anyways the future setting discussion is more appropriate for 2142 forum than here so i'll end it here.

I am interested, but I dont want to put my full faith in treyarch. What happens if for the next CoD/game activision saves money by giving them all the tools that were used in MW2? I think we should still follow them, but be weary.

Perhaps a World In Conflict type era game.
Set in the Cold War, fighting in and around the Berlin Wall etc..

Hell, if IW let them, they could do more missions with Cpt. Price and MacMillan, that'd be hot.

Especially for the british players, old school SAS.

If IW wont give us dedicated servers i can tell you right now there is no way in hell they are going to let their rivals on the market have a share in their legendary character.
