Played COD4 on 360 for 1st time!

WOW THAT SUCKED! I really hope MW2 won't be the same. I was at a friends house and I noticed the following things. It was a horrible experience.

*Will any of this be the same for MW2 on the PC?
1) YOU CAN'T CHOOSE THE MAP!!! I couldn't believe this. I couldn't choose what damn map i wanted! I was forced to play stupid Shipment and I almost killed myself. I mean not being able to change the map would be the worst part for me personally.

2) Lag! Players were lagging around 1000x more than on the PC. I never see people lagging on the PC

3)Interruptions. I kept gettin interruptions and everyone got kicked out when someone left game.

4)Player min. Idk if this is forced, but I had to keep waiting for players to join the damn lobby.

Console only problems- Poor consolers. Besides above problems^. There wasn't any text chat, very slowed paced action in comparison it seemed. Horrible controls, I mean I was shooting around the enemies and i was in some closed ranged combat and we couldn't hit each other lol.

I played CoD4 with some buddies, 4-player split screen and I lol'd whenever there were airstrikes, because the game would completely freeze for a second.

LOL. That's sad. I was not having fun. I couldn't barely get more than 4 kills.

The problems you appear to be describing seem to be network related. If your friend has packet loss from their router to other routers then gaming on the console will be horrible. If they have a lw end internet service provider, low end hardware, low end connection inbetween then there will be problems like this when gaming.

Have you tried PC gaming at your friends house to see if it is a network issue?

Wow, really? I'm playing COD4 at the moment on my 360 and I love it. There is no player min for me. I play with a constant 18 people. Plus, I rarely lag, maybe when the host is bad, but other than that, it's fine. You are right about the maps though, I hate playing the maps I don't like that much.

I`m still gonna get MW2 but p2p/Live is still s*it compared to dedicated servers. Especially where I live.

I play PC games on his comp and it works fine. I was just wondering if MW2 will have that same setup?

Ok i played CoD4 on the PC for well over 100 hours and have played just over 25 on the 360, now i understand that there are things that are worse but imo there are also things that are done better.

- Player count, on the 360 for me the player count is much better, you may have to wait a few seconds for players to join the lobby but never more than that. Also having fewer players actually decreases the spam on some maps.

- Cant choose your map is a negative as there are times when you dont feel like a map but matchmaking keeps sending you to it.

- You said players lag more but i think they lag more on the PC, mainly because you get players from around the world join a server on PC with pings 200+ whereas on matchmaking i never find anyone with a ping over 100 and if i do its rare so i would say the lag issues are actually better.

- People said they only killed 4 people, now im not trying to say your a bad im just saying it takes practice as in good games i have killed 30 maybe 40 people on the 360, but admittedly the controller took some getting used to, however previous FPS experience did help.

Yes. Bad FPS, and low resolution. Too blurry for me.

On the 360? I believe the 360 is locked to a constant 60 fps. I am way more happier on the 360 version compared to the PC version. Mainly, most of my friends have live and not steam or PC's.

the console versions have aim assist. totally defeats the purpose of skill.
